K, so I bought a G5 a couple months ago, AWSOME Mouse, improved my accuracy and shit like that. Only problem is getting to program my thumb button as a ingame control. So for those who know or have done it, could I get some help please.
what do you want to program that button for???
Map, crouch, or chat, not sure yet. LIke i know how to change controls, but when i press the button under map, nothin happens

I use mine for Defibrillator or wrench.
But do u have to do something before it'll work in the Controls section.
I set the thumb button as the key V using the mouse software and then mapped what control I wanted on the button to V.
i have a mx laser with special bottons on it and i just do it like any other control.
jbar u should prolly find some topics relating to remapping keys due to the shitty bf2 config probs first. but in order to get my 'common controls' prone button to accept 'space' i had to go into the bf2 profile text file and alter them by hand and i think that entailed me having to manually remap all the other controls too (armour, planes, chellywhoppers etc).
im gonna try finding the links i went to in order to find out more about the shonky control coding probs bf2 is riddled with brb....

i googled but then got distracted by my mate on msn. half hour later i cant function coz its 5:15 in the morning and im drunkorz with a couple of 'fatty boom batties' to my name since i got back. no links for u im afraid :s. having said that (b4 i green out) i sorted it out quite quickly all told. but if u do do it manually make sure u back up any file u edit just in case .

Do you have the logitech softare installed? Set point I believe it is called?
i would install set point to be safe, its a great software. but when you choose the key just click the thumb button when selecting button and there you goGotMex? wrote:

Yea, cause sometimes installing the software is the only way to get other programs to recognize the thumb button as a mouse click... I'll check for you since I have a G7, it's gotta be the same deal.\cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

Besides, set point is the only way to get the extra sensitivity modes to work (5 instead of 3).

The software has been installed since i bought the mouse (no noob). Every game i go into it doesn't recogize the thumb button, cept CS:S.
come on, no one has any more in depth help?
Try uninstalling the setpoint and reinstalling. My g7 works perfectly (use the thumb button for my main weapon and the mouse scroll button for the knife). Try it again

Only my settings are in dutch but i think it will help u alot. Just give that button an other option!
BTW u need to have Setpoint installed (inclu. on the CD u got with the mouse)
