Well I'm looking at a new GFX Card for BF2142. (Mine sucks) Well I was looking at this one, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130262 , Do you think it will run 2142 okay?
You would get a better response in the tech section....
My eyes hurt by your message, and I'm unable to read it because of that

Is that better?
Yeah, I thought about putting it there, but its related to 2142 too, so in the end I had decided to put it here. A mod can move it if he wants I guess.majorassult wrote:

Can someone tell me what they think?
go re-post it in the tech section and delete this....all the smart people go to the tech section.
You don't want that from most people... It's either nothing, or inappropriateATC wrote:

it is a 6600LE. So, it will probably run it on minimum settings w/ around 30 FPS in guessing, based on what i have experienced already on 2142 with my 6600
not amazing ut it will run i spose.
I say it will run on medium high if you got a great system backing it up, if you got a poor system expect medium low.
If you are getting a 66 atleast get a GT.

Ramp it up to a 6800 and you're set.
Yep i agree - expect med-low settings with about 20-30fps. I would get @ least a 6800
6800 would be a better card to go for IMO. Costs more but your going to get a much better looking game with it.
Thanks guys
[b][color=teal]if your stuck with agp for a while then I would suggest spending the extra money and getting this -
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 814130274. Will make a big difference and may squeeze a bit more life out of your old system. Also 2142 will probably need 2gb of ram like reg bf2 to run fast and smooth. You may want to consider purchasing ram before a vid card if you only have 512 or so. That will make a bigger performance boost than the vid card.

well, i ran a 6600gt 128mb on high in BF2 with 40fps.... not sure if the gt vs the le makes much of a difference, esp. with the doubled ram...i would expect around 40fps on med/high (ie no shadows, med geometries, med, textures) in 2142...
