so I wish to give all of you a bit of info that i seem to have discovered > most of you will have already discovered this depending on your mobo setup as well as there are many clued up persons here..so please dont flame ..this is merely a heads up for neewbies
I have upgraded my wifes pc to a ATi X1600 Pro + an additional 1gig memory module as she was "lagging all the time" playing BF2, her pc is now faster than mine , but I had to give her 4x 512MB sticks to enable the dual channel memory architecture,
I have a similar PC but have the X700 pro I have all my settings on full but since i have dropped a 512MB stick my PC is lagging...so I will have to get another 1gig stick to enable Dual channel again , the morel of this story is to get 2GIGs minimum to play BF2 and make sure if your board supports it, pair it up ...
(BF2 seems to load the whole map into ram so if you dont have enough ram it has to make hard drive reads/writes that are way slower than memory hence the hickups..)
