before i get flamed for posting this, ive searched and didnt see anything similar. but on with my problem...

i recently updated to the newest version of spysweeper (5.0.7) and now BF2 is extremely laggy. ive messed with my shield settings and tried just about everything. i had the same thing happen when i tried out the 5.0 beta and ended up uninstalling the beta and installing the older version.

ive noticed that once i got spysweeper to finally close out all the way (they have a kill protection on it now) BF2 ran fine with no lag at all.

ive submitted a trouble ticket with webroot, i was just wondering if anyone had the same issue or any advice that might help. thanks.

update:

webroot suggested that i disable my keylogger shield in the options. while this helped a little bit, the game is still choppy and hard to play while SS is running.

ive updated my ticket with webroot and im waiting for a response from them. if anyone has any suggestions in the meantime im open to anything.

thanks.

Might I suggest uninstall and use a different software package.  Not saying that this software isnt any good, but you know what the problem is so I would get rid of it.  There are certain software that you simply cant get rid of all traces, even by closing and/or closing all traces in keyloggers.  Most adware/spyware software actually contain files that they are suppost to get rid of, so my suggestion is to get rid of it.

and i just renewed my subscription to it though ive found that between SS and adawareSE my computer stays relatively clean.

thanks for the advice, but ill likely just shut SS down when playing BF2 i guess. id like to get my years worth out of it. and if they fix the issue then it might make me happy enough to stick with them longer

You dont run anti-virus software period while playing. I also have spysweeper 5.0 and I disable it until i'm done playing. Then re-enable it....

Playing with any kind of anti-virus software enabled will result in severe lag.
Disable it right before you play and watch how much smoother it is...then if you feel insecure about viruses comeing from BF2, just do a scan after you play.

ive never had a problem running SS, my antivirus and a handful of other background programs while playing BF2. its not until the new version of the program that ive noticed any problems at all.

but it is looking like im gonna have to start disabling SS when i play BF2 though. oh well.
