Hi there,

I've been playing battlefield 2 for a few weeks, and have noticed a real annoyance with my graphics card.

When ever im shot, or an explosion goes off near me, the screen goes all crazy, with text repeating itself, but I cant actaully see myself moving which leads to me being shot and killed.

I've tried setting the settings to "LOW" and 800x600, but with no improvement at all.

Im guessing it might have something to do with an effect that when you get shot or an explosion goes off near-by, the screen slows? and its that, which my graphics card cant handle.

The card I have is a Tyan Radeon 9600 pro 128mb DDR

Part of the problem is that because the card is not an ATI built card, I cannot use the latest ATI Drivers (my system goes into a constant reboot loop) So im stuck with old drivers that probably arent too compatable with BF2.

My only option I think is to upgrade to a new card. Any advice?

My System Specs are below:

AMD Athlon 2800xp 2.11Ghz
1 Gig DDR PC 2700 RAM (2 x 512)
Tyan Tachyon Radeon G9600PRO 8xAGP 128MB DDR VGA/DVI/S-Video/Hardware Monitoring
Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120GB 7200RPM ATA/133 8MB Cache
MSI K672-A Motherboard
Logitech Keyboard & Optical Mouse
19" Tiny CRT Monitor

Are you checking the temps of your video card, cause it could be that. Anyways I would highly recommend you updating your graphics cartd anyways cause the 9600pro is old. Though AGP is old, and if you do you will soon have to upgrade your mobo to PCIE16 anyways coming later.

Price range?

High end 200-300 7800GS
100-200 6800GT if you can, 6800GS if you can also.
50-100 6600GT

Not many good AGP cards out there as there will be no more made sadly

Have you also tried some third party drivers like Omega drivers?
