I got a new computer a while back and want to install lime wire. If i do would this affect my computer and its performance?
I got a virus or 10 of there so i wouldnt
my firewall just says virus was found and terminated, so if you do get limewire just make sure youve got viruscan etc. all working
try soulseek but ive never gotten a virus from limewire, that i know of, lol.
I use it ,its okay but does mess with your ping big time whilst playing bf2 try and use another programe if poss because the viruses are getting bad on there .
LimeWire destroyed my computer to the point I could even play bf any more (oke, it might have been the fact that it was ME using limewire )
Im never going to use limewire again
Im never going to use limewire again
I haven't gotten one virus from Limewire. But shut it down before playing a game, its a memory hog.
I downloaded it when it was free though. I think you have to pay for it.

would it affect bf2 performance? The only major programs I run are photoshop, bf2,sf, poe2. Thats it. I just dont want to slow down my computer performance. I was told to get itunes.
it wont slow your pc if your not downloading whilst playing bf2
I don't really get how people get virus' off there. I've never got one, and I can't say I find extra spyware on my computer between weeks when I use it and weeks when I don't.
I got iTunes with my iPod, but I don't download off it it cause you have to pay for the songs.
I'm gunna transfer Limewire to a CD before throwing away my old computer, so that I don't have to pay for it when I get my new comp.

download anything else and your bound to get a virus
most don't know they do. I had Sophos and Norton installed and they didn't catch 87 bad files from Limewire. Funny enough AVG free got them all, I had to disable my Internet con while I ran it of course. Those were my younger, naive days..lolghettoperson wrote:

Download Limewire PRO
If you're going to get Limewire, immediately search for "limewirepro 4.10.9 pro", download the one that's exactly 3,976KB. Then uninstall Limewire after it's done downloading, find the shared folder and open up the Limewirepro 4.10.9 Pro zip file and simply install it. Now you're workin with Limewire Pro. Faster downloads, more refined search results, more search results in general(I think), and an exclusive Limewire Pro skin. Normally this would've cost you 18$, you just got it for free.
Not really a gift but a time bomb so to speak._j5689_ wrote:

Hiding folders, disabling admin rights of your machine, you know, the usual.

This is a bit off topic, but I've wondered this. I heard Norton is a huge memory hog and runs int he background slowing down your computer drastically. Should I get MaCaffee or whatever it's called on my new computer? We are getting rid of Norton, we hate it.
Macafee is as well. Avg works well and is not as heavy.
