I just moved to an area that does not have DSL or Cable Broadband. The area does have wireless internet services that are available. Is their latency issues with these? The speed seems ok, I think the lowest plan has 400k and goes up to 3mbs. What speed do I need to play BF2?
bandwith dosnt affect latency much, between 400k and 3000k ur lookin at a drop of like 10ms at the absolute most... as for wireless... in general its plain shite in comparaison to cabled IMO.

I guess my main question is can I play BF2 ok or am I going to have problems because its wireless. I loved the cable internet, but I just dont have that option right now.
i play on a wireless connection and have no problems what so ever
The service is actually a 2.4 ghz service. You have an antenna installed on the roof and its routed to the comput
Alright, well then that's not standard wireless and it may be fine. I guess you'll just have to try it and as I said, if it's your only option, well then... it's your only option.xamryan wrote:

i am on wireless 54g connection too..signal strength is poor most of the time but it seems you need only some (3-5)Ko/sec on UPLOAD to play correctly..shut down emule and everything that uses your bandwith before playing.
Just be sure to protect your connection well, there are enough pricks driving around seeking wireless connections areas where they can tap in messing with your comp
