Well, if you got arrested and faced 10 years in a Thai prison, YOU would confess to ANYTHING that would get you extradicted to a "western" country, or basically ANYWHERE your lifeexpectancy would be more than 5 years when in jail.

Technically, they could still arrest him for falsifying information. Fraudulent information, especially in this case, can be a big deal. I wouldnt be surprised if they do get him on that, considering he is found innocent by evidence or jury. Either way, hes screwed and got himself into more trouble than he probably would have been in Thailand. Dont get me wrong, the girls death was a tradgedy, and I feel bad for her family and all........but it happened 10 YEARS AGO. Its not like they killed Bob Dole, Vladamir Putin, George Bush, or some other political icon and cant figure out who their killer is. I personally am tired of hearing about it. I feel bad for the family, but Im just tired of hearing about the case. There are plenty of other things wrong in this country, and sadly enough, this topic has taken the focus off of Iran, Israel or any other middle eastern country or conflict anywhere. Its rediculous.

Back when Charles Lindberg's(the first dude to fly solo across the atlantic) baby was kidnapped, people were literally lined up around the block near the police station to "confess".

Oh, yes, because US jails are just such great places. See, when I suggest that soldiers killing people in Iraq is inexcusable, I'm jumping to conclusions, but when you declare a motive based purely on a part of the result, it's perfectly fine. Does anyone see a problem with that?
