If Iran was not worried about the repercussions from the US/UN would it try to destroy Israel by any means?
What degree would Iran go to if you think they would ?
I know what Iran has said about Israel.
I just wan't to hear your thoughts.
Absolutely they would.

Xbone Stormsurgezz
A direct confrontation with Israel will leave Iran worse off.
It would just be another Iraq with Israel's superior military just kicking the shit out of Iran's army.
I agree with some of the posters that Iran's threats are just propaganda.
Iran's leaders know they wouldn't stand a chance taking on Israel alone, so they are just trying to bait them into an attack.
And if Israel is the aggressor, Iran's allies will have to defend it. The mutual defense pact with Syria means Israel will have to deal with the Syrians right on their border and the possibility that China and Russia aiding Iran is also possible.
This could extend to other middle east countries picking sides and a full out middle east war.
The US will most likely step in with its allies and countries like North Korea might take this opportunity to attack.
i thinks this is the worse case scenario, one that the worlds leaders are smart enough to avoid (i hope)

Well, that goes without saying.jonsimon wrote:

i also think iran would not attack israel openly and on a large scale. they would be wiped out (rightly) either by israel itself or the usa
