was just on a server playing as mec on the iron gator and we were starting to win but it became apparent that we werent getting uavs.  the enemy started to win it back as they always knew exactly where we were.  kept checking the status of the commander and he was always dead and infact spent most of the round dead.  started mutiny votes and asked people to vote so i can give them support but there was never enough votes. what pissed me off was that i had a score of almost 70 at the end of the round after playing best i could but he had been idle the entire round and had more points than me as they were racking up.

complained to the admins a few times but despite 2 being on, and on our team they allowed it.

his name is dRe=rs= watch out for him

took some screenshots to show his score at end of round but they didnt take?  please say the new patch hasnt re broke the screenshot function:(

because he is getting points for doing nothing and not helping the team.  I was simply warning people so they could know to mutiny if he does it again

crimson_grunt, you sound more like a person that has a beef against those individuals.
You don't need a commander, just get into a good squad which sticks together and has multiple classes in it.

An active commander makes it easier for squads to know where to go, what's coming, and provide supplies to help them kill the enemy faster and win the round.  I hate commanders who don't command.

Never seen this person before or since, the reason i was so annoyed that at one point we'd managed to take over most of the carrrier but the enemy systematically took it back.  if we'd had uav's then i think we could have won but cause this guy was away the entire round we couldnt have them.

heh, i do that all the time when commanding.

I'll Alt-Tab back into the game, drop some arty, put up a UAV, maybe supplies, come back like 5 minutes later. Usually I only do this on far from full 32 people servers late at night. I've done this a couple times with a full server and let me tell you even as USMC on Karkand, that'll be a tough game to win.

I like to keep games close when my team's winning, I figure the longer the game the more points and TIME i'll accumulate.

Well to those who recon a comander is a waste of space. enjoy the multiple respawns!!!!!!!!!!1 Comanders have a  real role to play & just being in a good squad won't compensate for knowing what flags are cap-able & what armour u may run into on the way there. Come on get real about comanders, if they don't do there job, they should take it up the *rs*.

WHY DOES EVERY ONE on the USA SIDE SEEM TO CONGREGATE AT THE HOTEL IN KARK? F**Ks THE REST OF OUR CHANCES UP TO WIN THE GAME> GOH THAT REALY GETS ME.

Two things:

1. How does a commander get points if he is not playing?  I thought commanders got points by using the UAV, dropping supplies, spotting enemies and Arty'ing....am I wrong on this?

2. What is the screenshot function in the game?  I have always taken screenshots by using the Windows XP PrtScn key.

thanks in advance for answers

same here. while i dont normally need a commander on my team to win it would make it a hell of alot easier if there was one. uav, spotting, and supplies help me out. dont really care about arty. all it does is get in my way. like when a flag goes neutral, i take my squad there, see arty coming so we have to move back, and of course arty doesnt hit the guys and they cap the flag. so a commander is not needed if you have a good squad but it would make it easier to win. and i hate winning maps and giving the commander a x2 bonus when they havent done squat!

Could not agree more. Commanders should find a place to hide w/ easy access to the uav and stuff and be an engineer. As a bonus, the badges are esier to get for engineer this way. W/ arty kills and such. Its how I got my Veteran badge.

A good active non fighting commander earns his points.  As for the 2x bonus a good squad can easily help one or two or even three members of that squad earn more points than the commander with 2x bonus.  Commanders who grab a vehicle and rush into the middle of the biggest firefirght they can find are not helping their team.

A commander's job is to help squads and even lonewolves find, kill, and outmanuever the enemy.  The commander's tools are his UAV, SAT, Arty.  The commander's weapons are his squads and his ability to give them timely information and orders.

OpsChef started an excellent thread in the features forum about commander's and orders.  If you want to learn to be a better commander I would suggest reading it and try to follow the suggestions and tips given there by him, me, and other players who have ideas that are founded in common sense and experience as commanders.

I thought so too but no thats not how it works.  Commanders get fractions of points based on kills/flag captures etc by their team.  So as he was connected to the server but hadn't spawned the actions of his team was still giving him points a lot of points.

Still the print screen button but it saves them in to the battlefield 2 folder in my documents.
