I have 6 usb ports on my dell laptop 4 at the back, 2 at the side. in the device manage under the usb setion it says USB 2.0.

so

How can I tell which ports are usb 2.0 and which are usb 1.0 ?

If one's 2.0, they're all 2.0.

yeah, they should all be 2.0 ones unless they run off differnt controlers but why would anyone do that.

in the usb section of the device manager is does have a few USB controllers and 1 usb2.0 controller so I think some are normal usb.  but as they say in Azerbaidzan "ik bejs hjdoiq kirufbh", that saying really relates to this !

My guess is they are all USB 2.0 compliant.  USB 2.0 is backward compliant with 1.1.
