Come on EA just let us know what the hell is going on.......there is nothing not a word not a whisper which is probably what you want, take a different view give the punters some hope including myself. Hell I wouldn't mind if i had to wait another week but Christ it would be nice to know either way.

Good communication with your loyal gamers is good for PR............. the lack of communication is giving you no credibility at all.

Why don't you just break the tradition of a Tuesday release and do it another day......sooner the better. Well thats my two cents worth

This from EA employee posted today:

The 1.4 patch will not be out tomorrow, today, or any time in the next few days.

We don't have a fixed release date for the patch right now, but as soon as we do we'll let you know.

blah blah blah!! Theres no hurry, you just end up with other unexplained crashes.
It gets here when it gets here, check EA's site every few days.
Doesn't need a dozen threads talking about it. I see one daily saying "my sources say" which means you've made it up or heard a rumour" my advice is relax and just wait!!!!

Hard to relax and wait when it takes 4 attempts at playing a map just to actually play it once. I CTD at least twice a night and I have servers crashing at least half the time, probably a lot more.

So yeah... let's all sit and wait some more.

I agree though, the rumor threads are getting a wee bit thick.

i think the 1.3 fiasco is a conspiracy to kick people out of bf2 and into 2142.

and every bf2 player wants to buy 2142. Pfft....i know i am not with all the headaches and server crashes that ea and dice put me through in bf2.

Have you played the 2142 beta? I don't think anyone is jumping into that game anytime soon, either, considering the work still required before it is production ready.

I reserve the right to be impatient about the 1.4 patch release as both a player and a server admin. However, I promise not to start any threads about it in the meantime.

I don't believe anything on any forum, a lot of people post something with a DICE/EA related name..
The only thing I believe is the news on www.battlefield2.com .. and there isn't any (new news).
So, like the topic-starter, I too want to here more about it instead of whispers and rumours, forum this and that..

As an update to progress with the delayed 1.4 patch, the patch has now passed initial re-testing but has yet to pass final approval before it is prepped for release. When this has happened the patch will be staged for release and we will let you all know. Once again we appologise for any frustration this delay is causing however it has occured to ensure the patch is as solid as possible.

I've come to realize I can't expect much from EA/DICE, so I don't. It helps a lot because that way when something good comes a long I'm plesently supprised, rather then living in the crule hard world of facts.

Facts like, they could have done better. And facts like I got screwed by a broom stick when I bought EF.
