hi all

I have two partitions on my HD ... one where I installed Windows Vista Beta 2 Build 5384

I have installed BF2 under Vista and it runs good (u can play online but no lan-games 'cos of server settings) and I'm wondering if any of you beta-testers have tried the game to run under Vista ... if so please respond here

Oh yeah I have another question about upgrading my system (can't buy new PC 'till X-MAS) so I want yours advice.

My spec:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ 2.20 GHz

1,00 GB of RAM

ATI Radeon 9700 PRO (agp version)

now what do I need to upgrade (if its possible to upgrade) to come closer to the recommend settings for bf2142 ... if I buy the best graphic card (AGP!) around, will I be able to transfer it in my new pc I will buy begin next year or will that pc have only PCI slots?

ps: how does it feel to shoot some1 down in bf2142 ... I came from sof2 before I played bf2 and I found it too simplistic to kill opponents (well maybe thats the spirit of the game dunno ... maybe u can't compare sof2 vs bf2 in terms of aim and stuff)

Of course you're able to upgrade your PC, but the question is if it's worth it?

If you buy the best AGP graphic card you won't be able to take it over to your new PC because your new PC will have PCI-E for your graphic card. The same goes for a new processor, motherboard & memory.

I wouldn't upgrade anything in this PC and rather go directly for a whole new PC.

Get new everything!!! Do a rebuild! What is you budget???? You really are going to need PCI-Express Graphics especially for Vista with all this DirectX10 stuff they are planning for it!

New Motherboard
New PCI_Express GPU
New CPU
New RAM (DDRII)
Just do what i am doing do it in 2 parts get all the stuff above first and then when you got more cash to splash get new harddrives and monitors and that if u want to upgrade them! I am finishing off mine next month its not amazin but i bin out of work for a while so i havent really had the money to spend!
My specs are

Inter P4 630 3.0Ghz
Asus Nvidia Silencer 256 PCI-Express GPU (need to upgrade this!!!)
1GB DDR 400 (Upgrading this aswell)
Gigabyte Duo motherboard (Has slots for DDR and DDRII, meaning i will not need a new motherboard!!! )

They did a test on Gamespot with BF2 and Vista Beta and they kept getting kicked by Punkbuster all the time. Anyone knows if they've updated Punkbuster, to be able to play the game (BF2) under Vista?

Dont buy a new graphics card until DX10 is released, supposedly cards that support DX9 now wont support DX10, however the companys arent going to tell us in a hurry
My advice is to wait for DX10

Yeah i am gonna hold out for a DX10 GPU! The one i have got at the moment runs BF2 perfect so theres no need to upgrade it i overclocked it a bit aswell using coolbits so i am just gonna wait for some uBer1337 DX10 card!!!

PunkBuster will not be supporting Windows Vista until after it is out of Beta, so unfortunately, don't be surprised if you're kicked by PB if running Vista.

thanx for your help guys ... I will wait for the new dx10 cards (untill then I will have some money

bf2 runs perfect under vista ... no problems or pb-kick at all
