It's not even close to how bad it has been in the past, nor do we have it as bad as some other countries.

Stay positive or move to Canada (they speak English).
And neither of you commented here

that's the perfect topic for america love it or leave it.
I was just trying to get the guy to cheer up.  I find it interesting on "how bad" things are these days.  Gas is still cheap, we've got good jobs, we have a great future, no one is killing me right now, and most changes are for the better...

The naysayers want the boogeyman to come out - sure we got troops out there, but they'll be back soon.  Sure this or that is a problem...but its temporary.

I spent about an hour taking to my extremely anti-Bush democratic ultra-converative ultra-religious father-in-law (yeah, I know...what were you thinking?) about Iraq over the weekend.  He is so skewed that NOTHING about our current government is working AT ANY LEVEL.  After the conversation we bar-b-qued in the clean air with the family and swam in the pool...weird if everything is soooo bad right now.  But the quote I remember the most in that conversation: "Bush has us committed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and soon Iran, North Korea and China".  China?  WTF?  He's normally a pretty rational guy...at least as long as it has to do with the Democratic party.

So...my point...most political activist ARE NEVER HAPPY about ANY current problem.  I'm not saying to ignore it, I'm just saying its going to take A LOT to get real real bad.

I didn't post to your "Love or Leave it Thread" because it was like a "Crazy" mating call.  Like baseball games, Nascar races, or Amusement parks call out to the Whiskey Tango (aka white trash).  There's plenty of crazies to argue with these days.

Anyway, I was joking about going to Canada...it's cold there.  I lived there for a while...great place....

the whole system is screwed, and we've already proved we're not as hot shit as we would like ourselves to be.

I'm sure people thought we were a "sad crumbling Republic" during the Great Depression, too.

I think YOUR RIGHT!!

We need to mobilize and STOP re-electing those 6 time, 10 time, even 20 time incumbents who do NOTHING other than fill their retirement coffers!!

Take interest in the newcomers, because they are generally the ones who want to do GOOD! The incumbent has already spent years in Washington, and knows the drill!

WE unltimately are the ones to blame for continuing to vote for people just because we are used to doing so! It starts with the Senate, we need to put some younger blood in their to re-energize the government!!! Guys like Byrd and others are old school people who are in the Senate for their OWN LEGACY, not for the benefit of  the nation!

Great thread, because you're right! Its REDICULOUS the partisan bickering on both sides, and the utter INACTION that both parties display every year! Its a sad state of affairs in our nations Congress! They are truely a bunch of self centered ASSHOLES, who dont give a FUCK!

END THE ASSAULT! GET SOME FUCKING REAL WORK DONE! All we have to do IS VOTE THEM OUT, ITS NOT THAT HARD, but everyone has to care, and vote! Our voter turnouts ARE PATHETIC, the kids need to get involved and change the atmosphere, or it will be business as usual!!
