I have no clue about anything to do with Motherboards, but is a D945GPMI good? It's on this quote i got from a computer place downtown.
It's good, but what are your plans for the "future"? Are you interested in SLI video cards? Are you interested in RAID? It only has an 800 FSB - is that OK? Are you interested in the Intel Extreme Processor? It has an on-board video card (which can probably be disabled) - does the quote include an additional video card?
In general - Intel makes great stuff, but for gamers you should look for ABit or ASUS boards (IMHO).

Everything you just said therw went throuh one ear and out the other, i have no idea what any of that stuff is.
What is the budget for starters. How much are you willing to pay? A high end gamming or overclockers motherboard will cost around $200 online here in the US.
Are you building a new system or saving some parts? CPU, Ram, Graphics card...?
What will the primary use of the PC be?

How much is a local shop selling it for?

We have a shop that gives you a stock pc, and you choose what you want in it (cards, speed of processors, ram, etc)
i was just wondering if it is a good motherboard, i want it to be good for gaming, but not high end gaming. im getting a new computer so i can actually play battlefield 2 and other games coming out.

well motherboard decicions are really driven by what your going to connect to it and what you need onboard unless you plan to overclock the system: AMD or Intel CPU, Graphics technology(APG or PCI express, dual graphics like CrossFire or SLI), but it all really comes down to what your budget is.ryan_14 wrote:

You do want to do some planning for the future upgrades too. If your gaming your primarilly looking at a graphics card for preformance before motherboard(pick the mainboard by weather it supports the graphics you will get or plan to get in the future and CPU with possible upgrade).
Intel has some good motherboards, but there are better ones out there. I suggest picking out the key things that you want before you look motherboards.

I detect a disturbence in The Force. I sense confusion and doubt. These lead to the dark side.
So, let's start with a really basic question: As cheshiremoe asked "What is your budget?" Tellus that, we'll guide you through the rest, if you want. But to answer your basic question - "Yes, it's a good motherboard."
