This topic is getting a little heated. If you guys could just comment on the video and add a few small comments it would be appreciated. I really dont want this topic to be closed.
As far as the anti-USA people here are concerned, your comments while noted, arent needed. No reason to be bashing the soldiers who have no control over where they fight, nor who they fight. So even if you dont support the war, support the soldiers. They have family's just like you, and i'm sure they dont enjoy being over there.

We were a neutral country, you do know what neutral means don't you. It means you don't police the whole damn world. But then again the US would be much of a country if it didn't. And seeing that +80% of your population has absolutelly no damn idea of anything non-american, I know why you can continue policing the world without any objection.usmarine2005 wrote:

I didnt know it was a crime to fight for your country. Now I could understand your comments if we were pillageing villages and killing civilians, but were not. Were in the middle east to stop the spread of terrorism. If we dont police the world, nobody will. if we dont stop terrorism, nobody will....The USA is a important power in our world and were not going anywhere, anytime soon...so deal with it....and I didnt see much Dutch presence in Iraq.Bernadictus wrote:

And how the fuck can you confuse 300 Japanese fighter planes for a group of your own B17's heading in from the mainland?
And being British, Hitler never got to us. Not surprised about France...all they ever do is fucking run away as it is, so thats hardly a good comparison
And guess what? We provided you lot with the enigma codes - despite your fucking hollywood bullshit showing yanks taking it. What a pile of shit. That really pisses me off - taking all the fucking glory for yourself, as if you lot dont take enough of it as it is. That is the only war film which ive never watched more than once.
And I dont call a bouncing bomb, capable of not only taking out a shitload of strategic dams across Europe but also sinking the Tirpitz, weak. Thats an English legendary genius, Barnes Wallis at work. 617 Squadron, The Dambusters. Never heard of them? Didnt think so. The whole world is toasted to American history, but never the reverse.
Preventing Germany from ever invading your country due to the RAF, running sorties day in, day out to protect the coastline and cities from german bombers. Only TEN american pilots helped in the Battle of Britain.
And when you talk about being weak, yeah, thats easy to say when you are on the other fucking side of the Atlantic from the enemy, where nobody can touch you. America didnt enjure bombing raids upon their cities night in, night out - against both military and civilian targets. Raids on local towns like experienced across Europe. Ports, factories, housing, commercial - you name it, it got hit.
Your population didnt have bomb raid shelters in every garden. Your civilian population wasnt demoralised. Your work force didnt consist of women manufacturing tanks/bullets/bombs because the men had to go off and fight. Your country didnt have rations because food was in short supply.
America had fuck all to deal with. Oh, except for that massive hit. Ha, yeah, forgot about that one. 1 raid. Damn, we feel your hurt.
All you had to do, was turn up with millions of troops and tanks, all with no previous experience during the war and keep sending them. All you did, was sit back and supply for the whole fucking war.
Except of course, for the Japs. Because that must have really dented your pride - since you actually took the initiative and went after them yourselves without anybody elses help. Oh, and even used 2 Atom Bombs in the process to finish the job. I dont blame you, I mean, you did lose millions helping out the "weak people of Europe".
And if you wana know a part of the reason why the US is hated so much across the world, try reading this:

I know what neutral means. It meant sitting by and watching a mad man who killed millions of Jews, Handicapped, gay, and other minorities because of his sick demented beliefs. So if being "neutral" means watching someone try to take over the world and kill anyone who isn't white, I choose not to be neutral. I wonder how people from a neutral country in WWII can watch the Band of Brothers episode when they find the prison camp, or watch Schindler's List without feeling guilty for sitting on their asses and watching this happen around them.Bernadictus wrote:

And for the police statement, you guys blame the US for not getting involved in WWII (with troops) until Japan invaded, yet you blame us for getting involved in Iraq. I swear it is like dealing with children, "get involved but don't get involved." Make up your fucking mind.
that music rocks, i loved the tribute.
I dont know if it was allready posted but the music is by Enya , the song is called Adiemus.
Something they still do in Afghanistan along with close air support for the US ground forces in Afghanistan.
The Dutch did provide logistical support for US forces in Europe and there was also a heavy Intel detachment during the war in Iraq.
Our Navy took up some of the US Navy work, because the US moved around a lot of its vessels around that time. Because of that we still have Recon planes in the Carabian, a project that should have been finished 2 years ago.
Rumour has it that the Dutch Commandos (KCT) also took part in the war but this has never been confirmed. The Dutch Intel presence would suggest that we were involved in the action somehow.
Seeing as our Marines are also part of the UK/NL Amphibious Force it could also have been a Dutch presence in the Basra attack by the British.
Maybe not IN Iraq but certainly above and beyond Iraq If I remember correctly the Dutch did Recon work with their F16's.Gentlesouljah.e wrote:

It may be worth noting that the US was also essentially neutral in that war, or were at least until they got attacked. You did quite a lot of sitting and watching, "a mad man who killed millions of Jews, Handicapped, gay, and other minorities because of his sick demented beliefs". The Dutch practically did not have an army when they were invaded, and what they did have was poorly equipped, and easily beaten by the much better equipped, far more numerous German army. You may not have realised this, but in fact it is hard to organise an army to go liberate a few countries, when your own country is occupied. Oh, and as for doing nothing afterwards, the Dutch resistance was the best in Europe.usmarine2005 wrote:

Fuck all of you and your crying. As for WWII, yes, we were neutral for a while, not with weapons and equipment, but with troops. But that is my point if you read what I said, you bitch when we get involved and complain when we don't We do not care that we are hated, and the majority of us don't really give a shit why. Show me a more powerful nation that people flock to by the hundreds every day, even risking their own life just to come to this country, and then show me how perfect they are. You know what, you can't, because their isn't one.
Why did you bother bringing it up? Oh wait, don't answer, I already know. It's because you wanted to try and get a cheap shot in at someone who does actually make decent comments.
And please don't use that immigration crap to justify Americas foreign policy.
And please don't use that immigration crap to justify Americas foreign policy.
What do you mean why did I bother? I bothered because I was reading some of the replies to this thread. We know why we are hated, we are the most powerful, successful, and richest nation in the world, and people do not like that. Since the US sucks so bad, why is it the only superpower?ghettoperson wrote:

Oh right, misread what you said as you wanting to get back on topic.
Actually, I can assure you that my only dislikes about the US stem from is foreign policy, and nothing to do with it's wealth. This goes for pretty much everyone else I know, and from what I have read on here, that's what the majority of other people think. And actually, there are countries that are richer, with better standards of living.
The US isn't really the only superpower anymore. China is generally considered to be one, or will be in a few years. According to Wikipedia, the EU could also be considered one, although I can't say I know much about that.
Where did I say the US sucked? I believe I only stood up for some people that you were busy throwing some retarded, factless insults at.

Well...Actually I'm gonna be mr.conspiracy theorist and say that FDR actually knew about the Japs doing that and let them do it so we could get out of the Great Depression. You mean like the Japs did to you at Pearl harbor....you were taken completely by surprise, TWO YEARS into a global war.

Actually I've heard of all of them..You see just a couple of nights ago there was a program on The HIstory channel about that. But ofcourse we Americans believe in propaganda..PROPAGANDA FOR THE WIN?!? And of course we naturally think we're the best. And I dont call a bouncing bomb, capable of not only taking out a shitload of strategic dams across Europe but also sinking the Tirpitz, weak. Thats an English legendary genius, Barnes Wallis at work. 617 Squadron, The Dambusters. Never heard of them?
Yes...Britain did help out alot and imho I think we're all grateful for that.Preventing Germany from ever invading your country due to the RAF, running sorties day in, day out to protect the coastline and cities from german bombers. Only TEN american pilots helped in the Battle of Britain.
But..Actually If America had not got involved when it did...England/Britain WOULD HAVE eventually tasted defeat by Hitler...eventually I guess being the keyword there.
Actually you(the English/British) wanted North America but got your asses kicked 'cause we believe in freedom unlike Colonial England. And when you talk about being weak, yeah, thats easy to say when you are on the other fucking side of the Atlantic from the enemy, where nobody can touch you.
Actually...Our Women did make equpitment for our troops.Your population didnt have bomb raid shelters in every garden. Your civilian population wasnt demoralised. Your work force didnt consist of women manufacturing tanks/bullets/bombs because the men had to go off and fight. Your country didnt have rations because food was in short supply.
But yes England had it bad in WW2. But didn't we all? I know I had two grandfathers die in that war.
Maybe not nearly as bad as england but we all had losses.
Forgetting the Battle Of THe Bulge? If we hadn't had stood our ground we(the Allies) would've got massively pushed back.America had fuck all to deal with. Oh, except for that massive hit. Ha, yeah, forgot about that one. 1 raid. Damn, we feel your hurt.
Oh and the 101st Made Utah and Omaha beaches work for the USA...without our Brave paratroopers jumping behind enemy lines there would be two beaches that would've just totally fucked Operation Overlord.
D-Day depended on all the beaches to be succesfull.
And Your troops weren't green? All your Troops were battle hardened soldiers who "WTF BBQ HACKED" the Germans. All you had to do, was turn up with millions of troops and tanks, all with no previous experience during the war and keep sending them. All you did, was sit back and supply for the whole fucking war.
course /endsarcasm.
Just my 2 cents about the WW2 ThingOh, and even used 2 Atom Bombs in the process to finish the job[/img]
Would you have liked England to help invade Japan and then lose even more men helping us Ungrateful Americans?
I was not talking to you, I was talking to all the people who bitch and bash the US anu chance they get.ghettoperson wrote:

Every one has their own view on the conflict going on in Iraq, America and its government. Take me for example. I was in Iraq for 2 years with the United States Army proudly serving. Did i agree with what was going on? NO. Does that make me a bad person? NO. that whats makes us Americans, the right to our own opinions, and no one has the right to shun them for it. I watched the video, and i'll tell you this from a soldiers point of view.
First, anyone who calls this a war has no clue as to what really goes on over there. It's a conflict, trust me, if it were a full blown war, a lot more shit would have been done.
Second, the video does "over glorify" the american troops serving in Iraq. Yes, good people have died, and many of us including myself have lost good friends and fellow commrads to this conflict. This type of video, i would say is directed torwards the general public. It's like the recuitment videos, showing young adults and teens the adventures of the military and the awsome things you get to do, but in reality, your picking up trash, buring shit, and doing stupid mission your dumb ass command thinks up. "Like personally picking up unknown object out of the road."
Third, I thank you all, to those who strongly support our troops then and now. Even the little things can brighten up the day of a service member who is or was unfortunate enough to go to Iraq.
Lastley, soldiers love video clips of sh*t blowing up and a great rock song playing in the backround. I see it all the time

I think people here should calm down. USMarine, you appear to be the typical blue coller American who has no idea, consideration or interest in anyone outside America. You also seem to be of low intelligents and rude too. Anyone who makes a comment like, "reminds me of the time you let Hitler walk all over your weak asses" when referring to WW2 is a deeply pathetic and shameful individual.
I think you should read the rather long post by Snake. He gets the point across well.
As for your precious America. You've never been invaded, barely even attacked. The terrible events of 9/11 are the closest thing that you have experianced and look how that affected your great nation. England as a nation has been in the middle of wars and terrorism for centuries, as has most of Europe. What I am saying is that you, as a stupid and ignorant American, can have no idea about anything you are saying. Sure you may have entered a few wars or picked on a few small countries for their oil but your great nation normally make a mess everywhere they go. Shall I mention Vietnam? Yeah, that went well. And if that comment hurt then I apologise but then you should also understand what I am saying to you.
America are like the school bully. Sure they are big and strong but all they do is pick on the small kids and steal their pocket money. They go through life thinking they are great when the fact of the matter is that no-one likes them.

No consideration for anyone outside America? I am immature and uneducated? You can go fuck yourself asshole. I spent a lot of time all over Africa trying to help bring food to people who were being murdered for no reason. Sounds like consideration to me.JohnnySupreme wrote:

My battalion helped build a few schools in Afghanistan and Iraq, and we actually put in women's bathrooms, which would never have been there before. Sounds like consideration to me.
We have brought over cancer patients and kids with horrible diseases to America for treatment, all at the expense of the US taxpayer. Sounds like consideration to me.
In the Marines we helped small countries recover and rebuilt after floods and earthquakes and volcanoes. Sounds like consideration to me.
I could go on, but I won't, because that is just a few things I have been involved with while in the Marine Corps.
What have you done to help the world?

LOL, hey your probably a good guy/ great American, no dissrespect, I too serve this great country.
