i watched a video which a guy was HALOing and shells were falling around him in mid air and creating white smoke streaks...i was wondering whether you can see the shells or not..
you shud be able to sinse u can see the missiles from the helos and jets
you can only see the shells on high quality...

Not sure if I've seen them before but my pilot went afk in a two seater as it was going straight up and 30 seconds later we were killed by arty. So I assume that the shells are there to confirm a hit.
Next time my commander shouts artillery in your area, i will run right in to the middle of it and look up.

Yeah you can see the shells, if you fiddle with your sound settings you can actually hear it before it starts coming down giving you the time to run.
im sure u could see them seeing as you can see tv missles and such
Yeah I somehow did that, yesterday I was playing Wake Island, waiting for the J-10 together with a million other guys, and I heard this strange Arty noise, I was like Ok, RUN!!! So I ran behind the hill, few secs later, yeah there it is, arty came down killin all the other guys, leaving the J-10 which spawned soon after just for me , Thanks USMC Commander and messed up Sound SettingsDoggehspike wrote:

I read a post somewhere on this forum where a guy flew at the same height as the arty shells can reach and actually saw the shells curve over before falling down.
Would be a neat thing to see on tape.

i've killed lots of planes and helicopters while they hover in the air with arty, the pilots get pissed, it's fucking hilarious lol...
cartillerying onto a artillery gun when its firing blows it up in mid air when its directly over the barrel

The first time I discovered that the arty shells actually fire up from the guns was when I was flying a full Blackhawk. As you can imagine it wasn't pretty and everyone accused me of poor flying. They didn't understand or believe me when I tried to explain what must have happened.

I can see them. I have effects have high. You cant see them perfectly clear, but you can see them before they hit the ground.

but i cant see the shells...the smoke streaks just came out of thin air..

I was also interested to see if you could actually see the arty shells, so using battle recorder I made some screenshots of arty from start to finish, here they are, I'm running all my setting on max even aa on max as well.
