Just got it - didnt get a ingame screeny, so i took it on my profile page 

lol u can just command and sit in ground defence i have it too and expert air defence

I got this honestly on Warlord, 20 man server.. i sat on 3rd floor palace and shot down on flag

Yeah that's exactly how I got my Expert Ground Defense... I used both the 3rd Floor Palace or the two MG's sitting at the Security Post...

I never got a chance to use security post MG as the palace flags were just switching between the teams.. i never actually went in there to get the award, i just.. got on a roll
