Why do Spetsnaz always lose on Ghost Town?  I'm still new to SF but this is becoming more and more apparent to me as I play more and more Ghost Town.  It seems like the same deal as Wake 2007 where China wins 75% of the time.  Only there's no mega overpowered doomsday device like the J-10 on Ghost Town.

SAS get the G36E but the F2000 is mediocre whereas Spetsnaz get the AK-101, for two classes no less.  I dunno, am I imagining things?  3 days in and it seems I lose about every time I'm on Spetsnaz, which is getting me down since I'm a total Russophile and love being on that team with the mighty 101 and the leet Russian voiceovers.

Many times my team has been able to cap all the flags and proceeded to base rape the brits, also the AK-101 kicks ass if used properly I prefer it over my unlocks.

one good thing to do is blow up their bridge, slows down their armor

It just depends on the teams. That map is balanced as long as the teams are balanced. If you have 3 colonels on SAS ofcourse spetsnaz will lose. Its simple math. If the teams are fair then its fair game for both teams.

It's a symmetric map, perfectly balanced.
The Spetsnaz have a little advantage, because they have 2 bridges to reach the main island, SAS only 1.

I say it is about even.

2 Bridges for Spetz is an advantage.

TOW in the Brit side to take out choppers taking off is an advantage.

They even out.

But it all depends on how your team is stacked.  I have been on both sides of the battle and would have to say it depends on the team that you have.

yeah, same here. I have had humbling losses on both sides, and I wouldn't say that on the serves I play on its one side is favoured. Just need to find a server where all the good players that are joining don't
all stack one team.

Actually I'd say that the SAS have an advantage...

Sure the Spetz have 2 bridges, BUT:

The SAS get far better attack choppers. And not in terms of weaponry, but flyability.

AND while both sides may get stingers at their uncaps that cover both Attack Chopper Spawns...

The SAS uncap Stinger is not vulnerable to Snipers.

This adds-up to better Anti-Air coverage and better Air Supremecy with better Close Air Support.

JMO; and assuming teams are evenly balanced.

i haven't seen a problem on that map, it all depends on the teams, it's basically the Mashtuur of SF, except there are uncaps

yeah it seems pretty even to me.  i usually play as support and from what i've experienced the rpk usually dominates the mg36 at all ranges.  usually it just comes down to who can dominate the chopper spawns, and who has the better chopper pilots.

I guess you guys are right, this morning had a long streak of Spetsnaz victories.  I don't blame myself for thinking it's uneven though, I was going through a day and a half long streak of SAS victories.

I like the ability at the start of the map to capture the middle flag earlier, you can drive most vehicles over the 45 degree angle flatbed, thus making a bit faster to get to the flag, plus you could have the ability to use a 50 at the other team trying to jump over the cars....

Spetz own on Ghost Town.  They have the best inf weapons, (AK-101 and RPK-74) the best tank, (T-90) the best chopper, (HIND is better than the apache in good hands) and the better map position.  Spetz>SAS.

all you have to do is keep the apaches down and spetz will win every round. or better yet just keep the two flags so the hind spawns instead. apache is the only good thing going for the brits in ghost town.

A lot of people team switch for the SAS, but if I am on the Spetznaz I always give my team a good run, especially if I get a Heli or cap both helipads for my team.

I feel sorry for those people.  SAS are probably the worst team in the game for weapons.

The SAS has a great Support weapon and I like the Spec. Ops and Medic weapons.  Their Engineer weapon sucks but I'm used to combat shotguns, not SMGs.  The F2000 is really bulky and takes forever to draw but it can do damage.

I suppose when all is said and done it all comes down to team fairness.

Though, personally, on all of my Ghost Town plays, the SAS ALWAYS wins and I get stuck on Spetznas.

I think it's because your just unlucky or theres a couple of guys on the other side who own!!!!!

But this happens with me alot, thats i switch team at the end of the round like a noob, and only because i like the Apache longbow

The map is fairly balanced, but I think players have a tendency to join up with the SAS.  I think it ends up being an issue of team balance most of the time.  IMO, if you end a round 0-200+ and the Spetz spent the majority of the round getting laid out by linebacker spam from across the bridge and double apache longbow action in their uncap, the teams need to be reworked.

The Spetz do have two exits from their uncap (aside from going in the water), but I think when you have an issue like what I stated above, it hurts instead of helps.  The bridge farthest from uncap turns into an entrance for the SAS, and once they get the upperhand they can park armor up on that hill and get a clear and protected view of the uncap.

Helicopters on Ghost Town really are not that big of a deal, and I don't think they can make/break a team.  There are multiple stinger locations (all able to cover at least half of the playable area), two AA vehicles, and a large chunk of the infantry seem to play anti-tank classes.  I have yet to really see a pair of players dominate that map for an extended period of time with a helicopter.

Again, I really think it's an issue of team balance (one that seems to be problematic with the map for some reason).

If all else fails, do what I do: grab the bloated-whale shaped transport helicopter in the uncap and use it as a projectile against those evil British vehicles.  If you time it just right and hit an apache as it's taking off, you'll have made numerous friends on the SAS team.

I totally agree with the even teams thing, but the Linebacker does give the SAS a slight advantage...it pwns infantry hard core.  Aside from being an LAV whore, I'm also a Linebacker whore.

That big f-ing radar dish on the Spetnaz ZSU thing sucks so their anti air asset blows against infantry...also has little splash damage.
