Okay well my sisters boyfriend, hes a computer "nerd" like me, anyways, he upgraded his processor, and now has a spare AMD 64 3200 (athlon 939). Now see I use a celeron 2.8GHZ, the AMD is a 2.0GHZ (people have said amd doesnt rely on clockspeeds really) Im thinking about making my sister get the processor from him for free lol ( I dont know how lawl) And i would buy a 60$ 939 mobo for the proc

But im not too sure about it,, is the 3200 any better than a northwood celeron (478) 2.8GHZ?

If you put that Celeron in your machine it will explode and fire will rain from the heavens. Don't do it.

yeah get the 3200 and a new mobo (is you ram compatible, should be but you never know how about grafics?) and oc the shit out of it (depending if you have the 90nm or 130nm version of the chip it will go different lengths but both should do well)
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

yep the 3200 is much better.
in normal language an explanation for that:
the celeron doesn't have L2 cache memory, only L1.
the 3200 has L1 and L2 cache memory, the processor store's information in the cache to work faster, the more cache the more speed in your processor, so to speak.

actually his celeron has 256k L2 cache, but yeh celerons are cheap budget processors for people who dont use their pc for anything intensive to run... 3200 ftw

Wear a diaper or something, because going from a Celeron to a 3200+ is going to make you shit your pants.
