OK i searched for a thread regarding RAM and 68 pages showed up so i didnt bother looking any further. I was just wondering if all RAM sticks are the same, like you can take one stick from one comp and put it in another comp. Im thinking of buying a stick cause currently i only have 512, and that means i get about 2 deaths each time i first join a server due to horrible framerates. So what im asking is, will any stick work with any computer. And can someone give me a price tag on like the 512 - 1gig? Thanks in advance.
I got 512gig stick for like 30$ after rebates from circuit city afew monthes ago
no not all RAM is the same , theres types and sockets (really only like 3 socket types though so no worries)
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
download it run the exe and click the SPD tab, then tell us whats beside
Max bandwidth
**Edit also although there are different RAM speeds, most, motherboards support either or, I have one 2700 stick, and one 3200 stick, but its best to have both of the same speed and type, for dual channel if possible
and also I read that motherboards use the slowest RAMs speed on all other different RAM inside it so my 3200 stick is operating at 2700 (because I have one 2700 stick)
so best to get the same speed and same type
