Godfather 1 and 2 are the best....Goodfellas is awesome but...i dont think a real portrayal of what the underworld mafia scene is really like....but def both are great!
Once upon a time in America is decent as well, worth a mention.

I disagree. I think Goodfellas did an outstanding job protrayed the life and risks of being a mafiso in modern times, unlike the Godfather, being set in the 50s.siciliano732 wrote:

yes, but goodfellas is more modernized where the mafia is alot more underground now than it was then....then you actually had the crime families and the head "Don" persay...you know what i mean. Yes in goodfellas you had the full blood italians being "made" and the corruption....but the mafia was orginally meant as protection and to fight the corruption. I dunno...darad0 wrote:

You do know that Goodfellas is based on the book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi which is the true story of Henry Hill, right?siciliano732 wrote:

no i didnt know that...if that is true...that is interesting...
I've been to Sicily two times, i also have been to the places where they shot some scenes for
The Godfather. Like the scene when Michael Corleone meets is future wife en the church where he
marries.
Shots were taken in Savoca / Sicily. I have some pictures of the church etc. Interested, let me no!

Siciliano, we're not going to help you cheat. If this one paper is going to make or break you, you've probably been screwing off this year and deserve to work a little. Good luck, though, and I hope you make it.
So one of your statements is a lie. It's either the difference between an A and a B, or you going to have to take an extra semester. Which one is it?siciliano732 wrote:
PLEASE HELP! This is the last thing i need to do for this class and if i do well on it, I graduate in May and will not have to take an extra semester and go another $15,000 in the hole.
I hate when people call this movie SCAREface. It's not Scareface, it's Scarface. Wtf...alpinestar wrote:
do a paper on scareface it's more intresting
But yeah, Godfather slays Scarface. Scarface is still a bad ass movie though.
And Goodfellas wasn't exactly modern.maef wrote:

read my post before you comment. Goodfellas timeline is from the late 50s/early 60s to the mid 80s. thats pretty fucking modern.mKmalfunction wrote:

Definitions of modern on the Web:
* belonging to the modern era; since the Middle Ages;

does it matter....they are both great mafia films....what does it matter...they are two totally different films though at that.
You need to fill in those last 2 pages? Make the text one size bigger
Don't worry any school that assigns the Godfather for a paper barely requires literacy. I'm sure youll get a C if you can spell Godfather right.
The Godfather and Goodfellas are both amazing mafia films in ther own right. I'm wondering why no one has brought up Casino or Donnie Brasco yet...also fantastic mafia films.
(My family on my mother's side helped out the Gambino's back in the day, so I take any mafia media to heart)

i finished with enough for my paper everyone....i bsed that much more...and i changed the spacing by .2% between each character....lol....oh the things you learn in school...
I also take the mafia to heart, studying mafiso figures is a passion of mine. There is something so cool about these men of power. They command total respect and loyality.. talk about a leader..Marconius wrote:

Casino is good, just not as good as the others. Sharon Stone really really pisses me off in Casino.
You were implying that The Godfather wasn't in modern time, and that Goodfellas was. According to this definition, both are modern.darad0 wrote:
