or

They seem about the same, option 1 has 256-bit interface while 2 is 128-bit. How much of a difference does that make? Just need something solid AGPwise to go for about another year till I build a new system.

Or would this be better than both of those? -

Whaddya think?

I'd say 6800xt, if it was a 7600gt it would win, but you're stuck on AGP

that seems perfect for me but it's PCI-E.  The guy who made the thread has AGP too.

Here's a pretty good mid-range GPU roundup from anandtech this week.  It's 16 pages though......skip to the last page for a summary if you don't wanna wade through all the tests.

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc. … 12&p=1

Here was their recommended choices by price:

$150 - $220: GeForce 7600 GT (stock)

$230 - $280: Radeon X1900 GT

$290 - $320: GeForce 7900 GT (overclocked 550/775 +)

$320 - $370: Radeon X1900 XT

Yeah it has to be AGP.  And it's just a video card I'm wanting, not a whole new setup.  If I go with pci-e, then that's my next system down the road when dx10 cards come out.  I just want something for now.

Some say the 6800XT, but it has 8 pixel pipelines versus 12 on the 7600GS.  Also, what about the 256-bit on the 6800xt versus 128-bit on the 7600gs?  Just curious which will be better out of the two.  Also some guy suggested that third link, the 6800GS, because you can unlock the extra pipelines to get 16..  Thanks for all the input, lots of quick responses from you guys...

Bump..  Needs to be AGP

256-bit on the 6800XT vs 128-bit on the 7600GS - much difference there?

Or should I go for the 6800GS and unlock the extra pipelines?
