Meh, you continue like that and its just gonna be a bitch fight usa vs everyone else. I my self have been in the usa, and..... Well I dunno, you see, after hearing about America all my life, going there really excited me, everyone knows the song
'Live in America' etc
But, my 1st impressions wherent good, although that was an airport and it was pissing down with rain I found my self during my stay, feeling, just a little bit cold. Nothing wrong with it you understand, but personally I didnt see the whore aura of 'America' but again, its a big place, im sure there is a part of it that will be of my liking. Nyc for me was just a big Glasgow tbh (scotish city)
I was talking to a nyc cab driver late one night, and he noticed my scots accent, began to tell me about his life, and couldnt help but constantly tell me, how many people he comes across, mostly americans are so damm full of them self.
I have friends all over the world, but they all tend to have this same belief americans are arogant bastards.......... Strong words (though swearing is a sing of low inteligence, SHITCOCKMOFOBASTARDFACEDWANKJOBCUNTO ) so if anything it's the 'people' that seems to be the problem.
Saying that, not one of the americans I know, would i associate them with being an arogant prick, no more than anyone else. It's a lack of understanding issue. Like the chap said ^^^ how many of these people have stepped foot on american soil. If my memory serves me correctly, less than 1/4 of americans have a passport, it seems you stay very much in your own domain, and that is fine. So I am at a loss really as to what is the main anit american feeling that is popular around the world.
What I think is the problem is, well perhaps jealousy, but I am thinking more a bordom issue. Constantly, american ideals, products and policies are thrown in the face of everyone, (yes I am aware probably no american here is doing that). However, theroies on a country comes very much from a generalisation, the country is made of individuals yes, but we think of only one type. The classic upper class english man, or the snooty french man and even the crazy sexy dutch
You ask anyone to give you their oppinion of an american and they probably will give you this arogant thing, I am not sure why this is, perhaps some americans feel complacent about, the largest military, or the only superpower, and even the wealthies nation on earth. As recent events have shown, America is no more imune to problems than anyone else, 9/11 is the best example of that.
My final thoughts on it though, and quoting from an arab friend of mine who lives in dubai
'Let them take care of their own and we will do the same' A feeling I think probably makes more sense than policing the world.
Adios my friends American/rest of world
