majority of people exaggerate their fps... they say their 'avg' is when there is no one on the server. Personally i dont want to ever get lower than 40 even 50... but any time it goes Below 30.. its going to effect your performance.

fraps will rape almost any computer... but i believe when u run it it automatically makes your fps at the fps you set... so if theres like a 50 fps fraps setting.. use it... it may take more space... but id rather have it take more space and be nicer on me.

if any of those are hurting its your processor, but turning off shadows/ lighting helps.

You can also try running at 1024x768 instead of any higher. Resolution also makes a difference. 1024x768 is a good resolution. It's not too high or too low.

Settings on Medium or High but Dynamic Shadows and Light on Low.
Only time i get a drop in fps is when arty is landing near by.
Just added a Sata 2 drive and load times have dropped by half. (woohoo).

Mine as I join a server is in the single figures....Then after a bit it goes up to the 30s-40s, I dunno what the problem is perhaps some of you can help, my fps keeps waving massivly from about the mid 30s all the way up to 80+. It really is anoying me cause when I get a 75fps I think great, I will turn up a few settings, soon as I do that, I cant move for graphical lag.
