Well...

Let's split ownership of voting machines between Republicans and Democrats, as we all know that Dems have a perfect track record in regards to not cheating on ballots.

Democratic Republic........

Regardless, technically no country is democratic.  Australia is one of the closer ones due to the madnatory vote, but I'm not sure that's a good thing (see CNNNN/"This person votes!")
Constitutional Republic. I swear, if I was a history or civics teacher, I would pound this into my students' heads until they could say it in their sleep.

'Democratic Republic' is a bit of a misnomer in regards to the United States, as today the term is more often associated with socialist or communist states, who've adopted the title to put up the illusory front that they are democratic nations and, occasionally, that their nearby rivals are not.

Why wouldn't you want bipartisan/nonpartisan oversight of all machines?!  Is that not just common sense?

If Democrats want start up a capable business for this purpose, then I really don't have a problem with it...as long as they make good on a promise not to 'misplace' boxes of ballots, only to suddenly 'uncover' others at the last minute.

The first statement in my last post was made to put voice to my doubts as to one party's honesty over another's.

That's exactly why having some "Democratic machines", and some "Republican machines" will not work either, because who's to say it won't just come down to who owns the most machines (again)?

There needs to be independent/bipartisan oversight of all voting machines.  How complicated can the software be?  It's just counting and tallying votes!  It should be open source, with random audits, checks and balances, etc. just like the rest of the system.  None of that shit is in place right now.

Nice links.  Please post the links to the indictments for election fraud as well.  Good luck...

But who's to say that 'non-partisan' machines won't be tinkered around with, either? It's far more important to have watchdog groups paying strict attention to elections than for people to worry about who owns what machine.
