Yes a nubish question but how does one get command points
I only know that if your team capts a flag u get 1 point , that's the only thing I know
Dear lord... I changed EVERY forum title to include either "BF2s.com" or "BF2" or "BF2:SF" in front of it so that people would finally figure out the whole organizational system we have going on here, and yet people CONTINUE to post things in the very wrong forum! *ARGH*
As commander, your score is calculated based on a formula using your teams score. I think...
facts:
- you get one point by getting a flag
- you get one point if u have located an enemy that died due to your teammates
- you get the averege score of your team
Im not sure about an artillery score, they might be recorded as a kill, thats why I could luckily kill a guy over 17 times lol.

You accually get points for calling out enemy units? Is this just for commander or no?
Your wrong, the average score is along the right lines, but thats all.MB.nZ wrote:

You don't get it for calling enemies, which later die.
You don't get it for getting flags.
You don't get Kills or Teamwork points in any form. (you can still get them, but they don't count to your final score.)
You don't get points for "allowing" requests.
If your team has 10 men, you get 1 point for every 10 points in total they get. If a man goes, you get 1 points for every 9 points, and so on. Minus points don't matter (tk's). It's best to provide them with UAv's and spot enemies so they can get kills to score more points or cap flags. Supplies help if theres no supports around, if there is a support let him give them stuff, it'll get you points. Arty helps the overall win/loss by taking tickets away, but it also takes points away from you as it takes kills away for others.
Play a game, and try what I said doesn't count. Don't just say its the first one you do, try it 3 or 5 times. Sometimes that kill of the man you spotted, could be the tenth point, making it go up.
Search around on the forums, someone did a fantastic job explaining a theory on it, which i may add is all the average score is. The others I've performed and seen my score STAY THE SAME.
The first, I've never heard of.MB.nZ wrote:

The second, I'm pretty sure I've read is false.
The third is a bingo... though it's not exactly an average of everyone's score. I read the code someone posted, and I believe that when anyone scores any points, that point is divided by the number of team members currently alive (so dead team members don't count against your average), and adds that to your commander score. At any given time you can have a fraction of a point (this can be proven by watching pre-double and post-double scores... you can have 30 double to 61, because when it was displaying "30", your commander score may have really been 30.5, or some such), of course... because of that, you can't simply say, "hey, I just took this flag, and my command score increased by one point, so you get a point for taking a flag"... some guy across the field could have easily just healed a buddy, getting a point, pushing you from 15.95 to 16.05, and so now you see the score change from 15 to 16.
Oh, we posted at the same time, hehe. I'm not sure, but I think that post may be the great commander post in the Featured section.
The details in your post are the post I was thinknig about. I could only remember getting one tenth of a point for a team of ten men, but nothing else. I was still a bit off though!
That's the one trouble with Forums though, two people replying always seem to read and post within a minute or two of each other

ALSO Commanders get points for:
- Dropping supplies that are used by you team, (possibly the easiest was to rack 'em up.)
- Ordering a Squad to atack a point. Once the squad takes it, the commnader gets a point.
- Ordering a Squad to defend a point. If a squad member of the defending squad gets a flag defend, Commander gets a point.
- Artillery kills used to count, but I'm pretty sure they don't anymore.
As stated, the easiest way to get the points is by the supply drop. Just drop them whenever you can in a group of friendlies. Chances are someone will need something.

I've been commander for al long time and I'm quite sure, that the only way to get points as commander is to have a team that makes points for you.
But you are right about the Arty. The kills DO count, but thats all, you don't get points for them. (Arty-TK don't count.)
But there is another question: What about support points like repairs? I oftren play commander as an engineer so that I'm able to repiar my stuff. The repair score is not counted to the round score, but sometimes shown at the Top-Score-screen.
(Btw. my first post)

Hey how about searching for this topic that has been opened about a hundred times already.
Commander Score
You get a fraction of whatever point is scored by your team.
Sum of all (Individual Teamscore divided by number of teammates)
That is all.

I just can't believe that your performance as a Commander doesn't factor into your points. You're saying that no matter how many enemies I kill with arty, or how good I provide for my team there's no DIRECT correlation to the points I get.
I'm not disagreeing, I'm simply stating that I think that's stupid.
My points depend on the skill of the other players on my team? Just retarded.
And another thing I can't understand... why is this still a mystery? Hasn't anyone from EA ever said what constitutes the point structure in exact terms for a commander? Every time I've sent an email to EA (for installation problems or game issues) they promptly reply with an explanation. Maybe someone should simply ask them!?
I'm on it.
