Just got a new computer with windows media center xp sp2. When I'm in a server I run about 45 ping on my normal servers, according to fraps I'm running anywhere from 75-100 fps. But once in a while I lag very badly I've seen it get up to 1000+ ping then it goes right back down. I've tried the fix stated in this article (http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=28412) and it helped a little but it still happens. Posted this in the help section and got nothing, hoping you tech guyhs could help me out.

er not much to go on but its prolly ur isp tbh.   ive had various conns+pc's over the years and they all spiked whenever i play online.  altho in ur case it could be anything best thing to do is prolly wait a bit longer and see if it settles down.

that article in ur link wouldnt make much difference for fps online coz all its doing is letting windoze connect to more peers at the same time...dont know for sure but shouldnt affect bf2 at all.

right b4 i get flamed for being a numptey noob pc user i aint slept in 36 hours and my ability to form consice and informative sentences has errr.....stopped working?

It only started since I got the new computer, I can hook up my old one and it works fine, as far as ping anyways. I'm pretty sure it's not the isp because I'm staring at the modem when it happens and everything is up and running.

edit
I forgot to mention that I took this computer down to my friends house and it did the same thing. Normally you can play Bf2 all day down there and have no problems. Any help would be great, this is getting so annoying that I can hardly play anymore and I know you guys need a target that dies before shooting.
