Ok first of all this doesnt concern BF2 but CS Source and all those other Source games. When i try to play any of them, As soon as i hit the end of the Valve intro, my comp reboots. So would this problem be associated with the powersupply? If so what can i do to resolve this problem. Please leave your answers in laymen's terms because i have to do this bymyself and im only 16, with very limited comp know-how. Thanks in advance
try "unscrewing" the side panel of your "computer" and alowing some extra "air flow" into your "pc" this may help you lower the temp of your "GPU & CPU"
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
You think he is overheating at the exact same time every time he gets to the end of the intro? If it is consistently happens at the same time, you may be looking at a video driver error, a Bad PSU or a failing video card among others. Id try the drivers first. My guess is the resolution change from the Intro to the main screen is causing the problem. What Video card are you using?cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
overheating, i suggest you get better cooling
Are there any other symptoms?
well i got a new video card just for the problem and it still happened even with the new one. I think the one i have is a nvidia 6600oc. i already updated all the drivers and everything but same thing happens. Even my laptop can run Source games (although its extremely laggy). I was thinking it might be RAM because i only have 512 but why its only happening to Source games i dont know because i can still run BF2 only all the settings have to be set at low, which is like playing with the original CS graphics
So does this reboot happen at the same time, every time? (just clearing this up)
yeah right when the intro ends and the background for the menu is just appearing the screen goes black and i hear the comp restarting.
what mobo have u got btw...
lol sorry for being noob but how do you check your power supply number?
