Where the heck did "pawn" come from. I have always known it as "Own" for two reasons. It probably originated because the "o" key is close to the "p" key. Another is that when typed in all lower cases, it looks like "own"

what are your thoughts

if theres another thread on it close it, sorry i didnt bother searching, it just came up with the recent "pawnage" thread

Its a stupid nerd joke where you would press a key and it would be the one next to it, making the word completely wrong. so things like, pwn and own.

Same goes for getting letters mixed up. Like 'porn' and 'pron'

A mistyped version of own. Its stupid, that and "teh". Especially when you hear people saying them on the street, and saying LOL rather than actually laughing. And z0r.
