huh ?
If you lot want to see actual ingame footage then look at the screenshots here. The early ones are when I had a 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro and were often a mix of low and medium stuff.
The newer ones are the ones with maxed out settings.
Since it looks like i'm in the top percentage of people who have a kickarse system.
Athlon 64 X2 4800+
Sapphire 512MB Radeon X1900XTX
2GB OCZ Currently at DDR 400 (not oc'ing until I feel it's necessary)
DFI Lanparty UT SLI-D (originally went with a 7900GTX with the plan to get a second and sli them, it's a long story)
2x 250GB SATA2
2x 160GB SATA2
They were setup in RAID-1, but I got fedup of the software/hardware raid issues of the chipset.
EDIT: The screenshots with the artifacts were taken on a 7900GTX.
Addendum, although these play little impact here are the other hardware bits.
Viewsonic VX924 Monitor
Logitech G15 keyboard
Logitech G5 mouse
LG HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B DVD/CD writer

I just got a 7950 GX2 and installed it on my Dual Core XPS Gen 5 3GB RAM. I had to install the beta 91.33 driver to get it to work. I am running 1600x1200 everything on high and it looks great.Kryuk wrote:

Ok, crap computer alert! CRAP COMPUTER ALERT!!
I need some help here. Any would be apprieciated. Im running a very poor rig atm (see below!) and am on a quest to build myself a new computer. Although there are many components out there, this post has helped quite a bit, but i still dont know what to go for.
My LAPTOP atm:
Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
Radeon 9600
1GB Corsair DDR PC2100
and my 15" widescreen monitor.
Ok, i run all mine on LOW. I (think) i can run SOME things on higher (perhaps medium at the most) but I prefer all low instead of some medium/ some low.
So yeah, any help would be appreciated. Im quite a noob at all this. But anything that will run it all on high without lagging, with high FPS.
Thanks

ALl righjt dude.. Please stop.... None of the resolutions your posting make any sense 600x480??? Thats just weird... Post a link to a FULL 1280x1024 image.... There is no forum restriction.... Post it in PNG for all i care.. I just cant beleive what you are claiming here.
Hmm, its seems like you should have sufficient horsepower to run the game . couple orf things I do:DecJW wrote:

Make sure you don't have any other programs running that could be resource hogs such as anti-spyware.
I also sort servers by ping and play on ones with the lowest ping possible.
Try lowering your BF2 audio settings to medium or low, that could help.
I would think you should at least be able to run 1024x768 with everything on medium.
why do you have to make me jealous with your incredibly good graphics

How much would a pc cost that can run in all high? And how what spec would a computer have to be??
Is a 7600gt better than a 7800gt?
My highest is only 1200. Hmm maybe 17inch montior gotta do smth with it?My_pet_squirrel wrote:

I currently run on full settings 1280*1024, getting a new 20.1" monitor soon though, so it'll be upped to 1600*1200 as it should be.
The graphics for BF2 are nice even after a year has gone by, not HL2 good, but for a game with so many things going on they did do well.
I love my ati 9600 XT (yay!) and my always overheating Pentium 4 processor
Have to wait about 10 years to get the 1000 euros to buy a new machine
Especially now, that the economy here is in the toilet and riots are everywhere, cant get to the shops safely
(p.s.: just joking, its not that bad...^)
