High every one my name is snowman and I am here because I have a problem. I have had a Mac for over three years. My lil G4 power book does everything except... the one thing I truly need, BF2! So you can imagine my excitement when I heard Mac's can run Windows. Now that playing BF2 is a possibility I must call on the techies of our wonderful gaming communities to help make this, my dream, a reality. My computer as it is now can't handle the awesomeness that is Battlefield 2, and my budget can't handle a new computer. So if I am going to be able to play at home I will need to work w/ what I have.
As of now what I do have is...
1. 256MB Built in
2. A Geforce fx 32MB nvda card
3. A CPU speed of 1GHz
4. A Bus speed of 133MHz

I have no Idea what I am doing so any advise or even a word of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)

Dont you need a new Mac, or a Mac with a Intel Chip to run Windows/BF2?

Yes. You will need a Mac with an Intel chip running Boot Camp and Windows XP. I'm not too sure how much RAM you can get put in one, but they aren't as customizable/upgradable as PCs (MAC ram upgrades can get pricey).

Ok, I dont know a whole lot about Macs but I will say, get a new computer. That video card is gonna screw you, same with RAM and proccesor.

Are you talking about trying to put BF2 on an old mac? Impossible.

Yeah, a Mac + a copy of windows, it'd be cheaper to just buy/build a new PC, and you'd get a faster machine

you dont need an intel chip, Macs have been able to run windows for years. Theres a program called virtualPC which enables you to change between mac OS and WIN.

An ignorant statement. Yes macs my not be the "gaming" computers that PC's are but Macs wheren't designed for games (even tho they are very capable of doing so). Anyone who works in the graphics industry should have Macs or they are falling behind in technology. If you ever get a Mac you will relise its better then any PC it just takes some getting used to.

Its true.. you COULD run virtual PC, but its an emulation, you aren't running BF2 natively. All code has to be translated and interpreted. I would imagine the bottleneck in processing would kill any performance ingame, especially online.
