its actually pointless. my opinion if ur walking around and have a ati 8500 and theres a sniper in a bush well u wont see him. but if ur in the same situation but with a nvidia 6800 u will se himm..its all about video settings.
It would be more useful if their name wasn't displayed above their head.
not that i know of but sometimes
it is sad that this camouflage isn't working as it has to... because all concealment can be destroyed by the video settings of the opponent
It can make a huge difference if you understand the basics of camoflage, know your surroundings, and move slow.
Otherwise, you'll be seen by everyone.

Depends on where you are (the map, as well as specific location); but as a rule, no.
its only good on fushe pass is wut I think lol, other wise its fucking useless especially when u run around in Strike u stand out like a queer
not really because the pixels that make up the ghille suit don't match the pixels that make up the grass/bushes and the fact that both "textures" are actually 2dimensional renderings not 3dimensional, the camo is not effective
ok man u didnt have to get technical lmao
One word - No
Simple as that really

Especially when you see 3 bushes on top of the damn crane in Sharqi...
hmmmmm, is that a bush? Or is that an idiot?

Sure it helps, but obviously not if you're standing in front of a building. The argument about video settings is mostly valid, though, if the sniper positions himself well then it can really be effective. I've hid in VERY small bushes and had people run right past me....on Gulf of Oman. I was a USMC sniper right behind the MEC runway, on that hill, hiding in a bush. And yes, people ran literally right past me and I knifed them. It's really about learning where to place yourself in that cover. If you're sticking way the hell out then yeah they'll see you.
Just like BigMack said, you have to know the basics of camo and move slowly. Real camo won't work either if you're wearing arctic in the desert and bunnyhopping. =P

No, because the camo fades at a distance.
on mashtuur.. on the hills between the back yard and the US helipad.. there are some really bright rocks. So bright, that we couldn't the see the US sniper on them that then went on to massacre our team.
If the guy is in ur face, u'll probably see him... but from far away long range, it's helping alot. also the technique help alot. hide in bush and such
yes, but only if u lay in grass with a color very near the suit, and not on the top of a little hill or something that do they can see you against the sky
Uhhh no. Ghillie suits are meant to be used in terrain with dense brush, and foilage. Those kinds of conditions are non-existant in BF2. Notice how police/swat snipers don't wear the suits? I wonder why. If you can find a bush to hide in, yeah, it'll work, but for +99% of the BF2 terrain the ghillie suit just makes you easier to spot.
Also, the UAV, scans, and big red name above head defeats the whole purpose of putting any significant effort of actually trying to use camoflauge.

yeah, but at the end of the day it looks cool
was messing with my clanmate the other day and took this screen... i think it can help sometimes, but not very often tbh... not very hard to spot where he is when you look, but it would be easy not to notice him if you wern't specifically looking i reckon.

Took me a second to find him. Cool demonstration.
