I have a myspace account and it has located old high school friends of mine that I never thought I'd see again.
It serves a purpose for me, as it does with others. Some need the attention, some need the socialization, some just need a place in cyerspace to "let it all out".
I go searching for old friends in there, and from time to time I find one. I use other resources as well. (classmates, reunion, etc...)
Just yesterday I found out I've been playing BF2 with an old track teammate on a server for months and didn't know it. He noticed my "Bf2 player" note on myspace, and left me a message about it. Small world eh?

Isn't the point of MySpace to socialise/make friends online; so, really, using your logic, MySpace is for people without friends to make new ones? How bout you don't generalise. People might have MS accounts for any number of reasons, Make friends, find old friends, find a date, find love, find someone to talk to, find little kiddies to talk to
