So if u want a new PC get it, especially with Crysis and ETQW comming up.
Waiting for COnroe and DX10 is in my eyes useless, since it will be full of "new stuff bugs" and offcourse very expensive will u can just run it on a good system of now with Dx9.
U only miss a couple of small details.
NOTE***** Crytek already said all screenshots and movies that are out here are DX9, so everything u have seen is showing you how it look with DX9!

how do you guys play this with an x300? i tried it with the family computer a few weeks ago... so painful to play. i mean, it's like only 100 for a video card that can run karkand at 1280x1024 full high; is it really that expensive to play bf2 like it was meant to be played?
X300 is all right... All low settings and I only get 2 second lags every 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds :pi3igpete wrote:

my x800xl can barely handle all high...and its not JUST the vid card that makes the graphics; you also need a good cpu/good ram/good mobo
and for those that have dual core...you get no performance increase in bf2 over a single core because bf2 is a single core app.

If your running at 1280x1024 why are all the screenshots 640x480?

I don't find 1600 x 1200 to be worth it IMHO. I have a 20" Samsung TN LCD monitor that does it. It has one of the best refresh rates for a LCD. I also have x1900XT watercooled, 2Gigs of RAM, 2.75GHz Opteron single core so my system is good for the BF2 task but 1600 x 1200 exibits image tearing when turning quickly but 1280 x 960 virtually eliminates it. Also fonts become larger and bolder, and power lines and such gain more than single pixel thickness so AA works much better on them. If you are running at 1600 x 1200 on an LCD especially, I invite you to try this and decide for yourself. Just a better overall gaming experience.

I tried this last night, very nice indeed. I'm stuck on 800x600 right now becuase of my monitor, but hopefully I'll get the 20.1" widescreen monitor for my birthday. Everything is on high, AA x8 and I'm rocking hard. Never one slow down, ever.
