No it's mainly because the country has very powerful and very rich jewish lobby groups who can make or break aspiring politicians, especially given jewish media-outlet ownership. The actual population of jews in the USA is less than 2%. The lobby groups seems to have been building in influence for decades and now actually completely call the shots when it comes to US foreign policy. It does not include the cost to U.S. taxpayers of IRS tax exemptions that donors can claim when they donate money to Israeli charities. Israel is getting 15x more per person.
