Neg, I think one of your main problems is that you are coming into the game new when most other players have been playing for a loooooong time now.  Most people you play against are going to be more experienced and skilled than you are, and there's not much you can do about it.

I agree with most of the recommendations here, but you may also just have to accept that you're going to be outplayed most of the time.  So have fun and don't worry about your stats.

I think there are just some people who are insanely good at playing FFS, and going into a head to head firefight with them usually end up in your death. But most of us go through the same period. When I first started playing I was so paranoid about playing badly I didn't join any 32 or 64 player maps because I thought I would just be completely destroyed. But after all it's only a game, who cares if you're good at a game or not, it doesn't get you any further in life. Don't worry, keep practising and don't give up, soon you'll develop your own style, it comes naturally so you don't need to lose sleep over it. Another thing, if you can't beat them head to head (happens to me all too often), use tactics like going around them and surprising them. There's nothing more satisfying than outsmarting a really good player on the battlefield

"shoot from the prone or crouch position"

um....yeah.....this is how that works for me:  prone (or crouch), shoot at this guy that is spasming all over my screen (in short bursts), I hit him a couple of times, then he fires one shot and I die.

Seriously.  I'm begining to think the whole "shoot from the prone or crouch position" is a load of crap.  The main reason I am begining to question this is most of the time I die from someone who isn't sitting still.  If THEY aren't sitting still and killing me then maybe I can kill someone if I'M not sitting still.

Can someone explain this puzzle to me (preferably tell me what I'm doing wrong).
