DDR and DDR2 are 2 different types of ram just to let you know

BTW get a 4400+ which is about 20-30$ more and get 256kb L1 and 2m L2 cache at around 2.2ghz

get matching ram..... and for that price you can get much better (excluding screen, windows, ect since gamers already got that usualy).

try to get 2x 1gb drr400 @ 577Mhz.

Roger that. That CPU and mobo won't work. Neither will the mobo and memory.

Working off your AM2 cpu choice, it'd suggest the following mobo:

Asus M2N-E Socket AM2 nForce 570 Ultra $114.99

And this video card:

eVGA 7600GT CO $244.99

Keep your original memory selection and you'll be on the right track.
