Exorcist is quite scary. Considering during the original screenings, people were actually running out of the theater screaming. Part 2 was horendous. But actually, Exorcist 3 scared the hell out of me.

An unrelated movie, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" was pretty crazy too. Maybe because it is well known that it was based on fact.

Just my addition.

They above are all about as scary as a dead fly.

28 Days Later unnerved me though. Not the zombies, the fact of where the bug came from.

Alien.  Considering the era and the effects they were working with, this movie is fucking brilliant IMO...I'm of an age now where movies don't scare me so much as unnerve me, but when I first saw Alien at around age 10 it was the scariest movie I'd ever seen, and I still don't think I've seen a more suspenseful movie.  I've heard Texas Chainsaw Massacre is pretty scary, but haven't seen it myself...

The Peacock Family episode of The X-Files is also one of the scariest things I've seen.  I live in Missouri, and...yeah...

Movies are just that, movies. I've yet to find one that has scared me. I laugh at the gore in the recent movies. Think that's gross? Work in an E.R. for a few years. Who else here can say they've held part of a human brain in their hand?

I guess I vote for The Ring...but only because I'm an idiot.  I don't really think it was scary but everyone tells me I'm an idiot so that means I have to pick The Ring...right?

Well, if I didn't have to pick The Ring, I would probably say Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (A.K.A.: 3 Fast, 3 Furious).  I haven't actually seen it yet, but I have a feeling it'll be so scary it'll make me sick...or that it'll at least make me sick.
