another question though its a bit off topic, is it common for someone to go to bf2 have to watch that stupid long trailer...get to the screen where it asks what you want to do( go online, singleplayer), and crash to the desktop...

the short answer is no.

there is not a separate output for the game sound and voip.  They are both on the same channel.  I have used the headset for just the mic and listened to my main speakers.  But I cannot see ANY way to get it to do what you are wanting it to do.

Edit...

Just had a thought.  I am not familiar with Ventrillo (spelling?) that much.  Does anyone know if it can in any way support a separate USB headset away from the game sounds?  This may be a way to go.

1.3, beta's have USUALY have bugs

edit:

about the sound: not possable, the sound comes out of bf2 in 2 steams, 1 of sounds like the heartbeat when  a nade explodes next to you, and when you win or lose the round, the voip is also on that, and the walk, shoot reload ect sounds, other steam..... (not wave)

you can however put the sound on the boxes, and record with the mic, if you give details on what headset you got...

(re-)install the latest drivers, it might be broke
did you install the FULL 1.3 or the INCREMENTAL? you might need to uninstall bf2, and reinstall it, and trow the full patch over it......

you can see your FPS with a program called fraps (www.fraps.com), or you can type in the console in bf2 (open it by pressing ~ (next to 1, above tab, under esc or default keyboard)), type : renderer.drawfps 1
, on the top left it now shows the FPS. if you want to turn it off, replace the 1 by a 0.

You can use these http://www.radioshack.com/product/index … age=search to plug into your outputs..This way you can plug headset and speakers into to same output. I think this is what you are looking for.

Nope, that will just send all of the sounds to both, he wants to send the VOIP to his headset and the other game sounds to the speakers. I don't think this can be done.

It can be done I use my PS2 headset from SOCOM and if I start the game up then plug in the headset the game sounds come through my speakers and any voip (in game and stuff like teamspeak) come through the headset earpiece...
