First of hello,
                 :To the Mods if this is in the wrong place please move and sorry.
                 :I have made a search for this topic but couldnt find much, if i am wrong which i probably am       
                   post up so i can see

NOW BACK TO TOPIC:
   I have noticed something odd i have read posts in the past where 1.3 has bought missery to bf2, Sf etc but. And i completly agree BF2 when i play crashes out for me either by me or a server i am on every 3 too 4 rounds but SF doesnt. i played for 4 hours last night on CSA server and it only crashed once and the day before it didnt crash at all. This also includes my SF software no crashes ever.
    Heres a comparative. i love BF" so i do play that more than SF, like every one else i occasionly quit out of a server and leave it in idle while i facilitate my needs (ie eat, drink, smoke toilet break etc) so maybe i have left the machine in idle with BF" in the main screen server menu for 25-30 mins i load up a server list when i come back even waiting the said 20 secs before loading up the server and CRASH CRASH CRASH to desktop every time.
     SF on the other hand i requarly leave on for a good few hours in the idle state with the main screen up (cos i mostly play it on weekends) and it never crashes.

If there are any software engi's or any that knows why post up maybe i missed something obvious but SF for me is wholy alot more stable enabiling hours of quailty game play.

so sofar in the last 3 days i have had 1 server crash and thats it, while BF2 the other night i had 3 in 24mins.

so over to you guys tell me why

SF has never crashed on me. I've gotten a problem with my connection, but that was once and only for a second.

Conclusion: Packet loss.

yeah i've noticed it too, the SF maps rarely CTD right as i hit the join game button.

Total opposite for me,

I only now play SF and to be honest the server crashes at leat 3 times a night for me no matter what server i join, last week I counted at least 14 crashes in a week, meaning I lost a shit load of points (as you get none if the server fails to reach the end of the round) as I was playing on half empty servers to get a lot of points IAR.  But one night after 3 hours of non stop crashing meaning i only got about 100pts during that time, i had to stop playing for a few days as I lost all interest in the game even though I was 1k away from Sarg Major.

1.4 is the only thing that will make me continue playing after i get my 50k points (If it works properly that is) due to unstable servers thanks to that 1.3 game ruinig patch!!

BECAUSE.......SF is a stand-alone you buy at the store and has never needed to be Downloaded thru the dumbsest piece-OF-SHIT program ever made ...the EA DOWNLOADER.

That's what is the problem.........when EA DOWNLOADER becomes a stable platform that people can use without not worrying about getting a corrupted client thru it then BF2 will also become stable again.When you see so many "LOST CONNECTIONS" it is more times than not because someone that has gotten a corrupted data for a patch or one of the add-on packs trying to join a server.

SO...........if you find yourself having connect problems alot.......just re-download the current FULL patch from some other 3rd party client ......NOT EA DOWNLOADER!!!!!.......and re-install the FULL patch.

if that still doesnt solve it....then try EA DOWNLOADER again and re-download the add-on again and reinstall it or them(if you have bought both) and pray your download goes smoothly.
