But how succesfull is it, and how much does it cost?

I find it difficult to believe that some magic cream can remove a tattoo whilst a laser has difficulty with it.

I haven't decided what I want to get yet. Whatever it is, it will be something very personal/something that would help start a conversation about my belief in God.
It won't be very big, and it will be easy to hide, but also easy to be uncovered and seen (mainly for my future career as a network administrator... I'm sure they wouldn't want my tattoos in plain view).
Which God? For there are many. I have a few myself, each to their own.

Recently saw a rather er...... 'wicked' (Hmmm dunno if thats the right term here!) Christ tattoo done in a tribal tattoo style, but with a good bit of colour in it too.

Didn't Jesus and his squad have marks on their legs to show who they were? Sounds like Tatts to me

Take yer time in deciding, look at lots and lots of pics and then get your own idea of an image drwn up by an artistic type or the tattooist themself  to keep it original to yourself. Quite often its a good idea for the tattooist to do it, because they will know what will work and what will not, It cant be TOO detailed or it just wont work well.

I have some tattoos already, but I've got my next tattooing appointment scheduled for 9/11 with Mr. Cartoon, the guy that tattooed  Eminem and a lot of celebrities. It's gonna cost me about $ 1, 500 USD. I'm not sure if I want a skull with a PASGT Helmet on, with goggles and all on my left shoulder, or just the skull with cross bones as in the Pirate flag; or the skull with the helmet on but without the goggles and with the helmet band with my last name. I still dunno.

Carry on believing that.

it seems to work, google wrecking balm, or TCA, the reason laser is popular is because it makes money for tattoo laser removal people, TCA is over the counter, and cheap, so dermatologists aren't going to tell people about it.

That is pretty much what I am thinking too.

But every one wants the 'easy' way out and will pay for it.  Sounds like a scam to me.

Although looking it to it a little bit, it might work on a really shallow, crappy tattoo.  Especially one on some sun bleached skin.

I do know that salicylic acid soap will eventually remove a tattoo, but that takes a long time and a lot of scrubbing.

I take it that will be a military Tattoo going on there? IMO there are a million and one Skull and crossbones out there. Skull and helmet sound good, but you have a good bit of time between now and then.

I'd love to see it finished, those top grossing boys can do some amazing stuff. That Phoenix of mine has other tattooists freaking out with some of the techniques Mr Baxter used. You'll generally get what you pay for ($1000 about covered the Phoenix). Good luck with it, Bloke!

Larry gets home late one night and his wife, Linda, says,
"Where in the hell have you been?"

Larry replies, "I was out getting a tattoo."

"A tattoo?" she frowned. "What kind of tattoo did you get?"

"I got a hundred dollar bill on my privates" he said proudly.

"What the hell were you thinking?" she said, shaking her
head in disdain. "Why on earth would an accountant get a
hundred dollar bill tattooed on his privates?"

"Well, one, I like to watch my money grow. Two, once in a while I like
to play with my money. Three, I like how money feels in my hand. And,
lastly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay right here at
home and blow a hundred bucks anytime you want."

Larry is recovering in room 232 at John Hopkins Hospital.

You get what you pay for, but a lot of times, you are paying for a name.

I have noticed that with a lot of 'big name' ink slingers, you are paying a serious premium for them to do basically some flash.

How much did that cost you? I've heard that a tattoo costs $100 for the area that the note covers, but surely for something as detailed as that, it would be a lot more? It's pretty impressive though. I can't say that it's the sort of thing that I'd want on me, I'd prefer something much simpler, but it really is a piece of art. The only thing that would worry me would be having something that good done, and then the colours fading over the years so that it didn't look as good.
pricing various widely. A good artist will cost more, and i highly, highly suggest paying for it. plus, more colors and detail only jack up the price. I got an American flag on my left shoulder blade about 4 X 4 inches for $190. It was a $300 tat, but i got it just after 9/11 and they were doing discounts on patriotic tattoos. it was pure coincidence, i already had the appointment before 9/11, shit just happened.....

My suggestion is to shop around, ask around, read reviews. dont ever settle on the first guy you ask, bring your design to at least 3 artists, get prices, and most are willing to negotiate if you do your homework.

True, but ya wouldn't pay the same for a Picasso, over a copy a guy down the road drew up? Nick Baxter that did my arm is a pretty big name and still on the rise. Didn't stick his arm into me, even though he had come over from the states and only did 5 tatts while he was here. And it certainly was no flash!

If the guy down the road's work looks just as good as Picasso's, then damn right I would get his instead.  The cheaper price means that I can get more of his work if nothing else.

Names don't mean shit.  It's the quality of the work that has to toe the line.

I totally agree with the names thing, what I mean is 90% of the time they are so good they have a massive waiting list, and why should they not make hay while the sun shines?

I agree with you because my other arm is half sleeved by an unknown Female Tattooist, and most folk including myself prefer it to the Phoenix you saw above. I've no good photo just yet. With a bit of luck by the end of the day I'll get one.

Still I'd pay through the nose for Guy Aithcheson, or Boris. But I have a good lot more for Janine Ashton to do (er... who?!) She also did the Dragon that sits on my shoulder above the phoenix, and there's a sorta beautiful celtic sorta style from her.

I think both of you are right: names don't mean anything, and maybe in the case of Mr. Cartoon I may be paying a bit of name and fame, but believe me, I've seen his work in person and it's really amazing stuff. He also does art for CD covers and more. In fact, I'm paying ONLY $ 1, 500 USD coz I'm in a waiting list (I scheduled last year), but if I wanted to skip the wait, I'd paid $ 3, 000 bucks! Anyway, I don't know a Tatto artist this good other than those Miami Ink TV Show dudes. Maybe next time I go to Miami I'll get one from them too.

I just realized that I was spouting off about tattoo work and never posted photos of my own.  The lady that did the work has been in several magazines and what not, but hasn't in a while because she doesn't really care for fame.  She just wants to tattoo and not have people hanging around the shop.
I have to apologize about the size and quality of the photos;

I wanna finish off my chest and then get some arm work done.  Figured I would do the 'painful' stuff first and get it out of the way.

And thanks.  I like the lady that does my tattoo work and she does a great job as far as I am concerned.

Oh, and the guy with the Rammstein tattoo, why? You'll hate it in a year or two anyway, when you realise that Rammstein suck, and move on to some real metal. Tattoo's are more or less for life, I would never get anything done that's so commercial. It's like all those homos with their Ramones tattoos.
