Does anyone know if the recent price drops of AMD proccesors has arrived in Britain yet?

I know this topic is a bit of a waste. I will end it as soon as I get an answer.

seems to have in some online shops like techfever.co.uk but others are still at the high prices like before.
shame that the ones that i want from techfever are out of stock!

The price slash will depend on the inventory strategy and returns policy of the retailers that you buy from. Some retailers have already lowered their prices. Some have lowered them, but "claim" to be out of stock (usually an administrative situation caused by the markdown they need to get covered by their suppliers via their returns policy). It may be as much as a couple of weeks or a month before every store lowers their prices. But that wont matter. you just have to search to find the new and lower prices.

Depends on what you've got already and what your budget is.

Does your current motherboard support the current AMD chips? If so, I'd go with whatever AMD has right now as they should last until the Intel chips reduce slightly and new, improved motherboards come out. At least if you wait a few months AMD might surprise us all and bring out something even faster.

If not, or if you have money coming out of your ears, go with the Conroe.
