Ranking up questions...

I reached 20,000 points and was promoted to Master Sergeant...I needed two basic badges to get my 1st Sergeant rank, I got those last week with about 20,500 points.

I am now at 22,000 points and have all the badges I need to get the 1st sergeant but still have not gotten my promotion. Will I not get the 1st sergeant rank because I didn't have my badges before I reached 20,000 points? And go from master sergeant to master gunnery sergeant at 50,000 points, and to get my sergeant major rank I must have the other badges BEFORE I reach 50,000 points??

When I load my game and go to my points and rank the space bar that shows how much you need to get to your next rank is completely full.

I have look at everything and have not found anyone or any website that can answer these questions.

u have too have the badges BEFORE you get 20k so u don't get it and u can still get master Sergent as long as you have the badges at 50k mark

OUCH wish I would have know that before I reached 20 k, the badges I needed were really easy to get!!!

some people here speak of a button.. a mythical button.. called "Search"..

apparently.. its 3 times larger than the other options in the fabled "menu" and its also bold.. and supposedly orange.

not many people have heard of it.. but if the rumours are true.. click HERE and you may find a clue as to its location.

WOW just used that magical button and it pulled up 98 pages and the first 4 didn't or wasn't even close to answering my question, but hey thanks I know where the button is now and who I wouldn't want in my squad.

if you're meaning in BF2 in general.. then i'm a key asset to any squad i play in.

if you mean the BF2s.com ladder that I'M organising with JaM3z. then you fail.

It is also worth noting that the upper ranks are not progressive. You will only earn one rank per point bracket. If you make it to Master Sergeant without the awards, you will not be promoted to First upon earning the missing awards.

wow. yes, zhet, that is probably one of the most asked questions around this game these forums have seen in a long time. The issue is so common though, that I sometimes wonder how people still do not know about it.

I take it you are relatively new to the game and this site.

In the upper hand navigation you'll find UBAR, our "unofficial" Guide to BF" ranks, awards, medals, etc.
This should answer all your questions related to e-bling.
There is also the Wiki, a knowledge base around BF2 created by forum members, which is constantly updated.
It features all sorts of guides and advice.
If those two fail, there is always the mighty SEARCH button.

yeah, well, I am veeeeeeery patient indeed. That's why I am sometimes refered to as "The calm mod"

maybe it's my medication, don't know...

to me, the point is that you cannot expect everyone new to the game of BF2 to know about this site and the information it offers from the start. I was lucky enough to find this site in August of last year, when it was still relatively new, and things like UBAR and the Wiki didn't exist yet.

Thus, there is really no reason to get all mad at Zhet. How was he supposed to know the information he needed was so easily available here ?

Moreover, I also missed out on First Sgt. because I didn't know about the issue beforehand. So I kinda know how it feels..
