Maybe I won't derail threads as much as I have but just report them.
Here is some reasoning:
If the topic is a redundant topic and we flame/derail/hijack the thread, doesn't that make us as bad as the person who started the thread?
It puts us at or below the level of the person who posted it.
I think some topics are okay when they are doubled because when you try searching through 100s of thousands of posts, it can be a pain. But only if the poster has down a comprehensive search. (i.e. searching for more than one word) Then the double is fine.
I think the ninjas and pirates and penguins and whatever else have created a bigger problem for mods, because they (the mods) could have just looked at a thread and decided if it was doubled or not, now they have to dig through the piles of crap of the derail/hijack/flames.
Does this mean I am leaving as a ninja? No.
This ninja thing was supposed to be fun but now it has become some what of a pain for everyone. And I am not just talking to ninjas but also pirates and penguins.
So now, I think I will try to do the mods a favor and just report a thread that I see that is doubled rather than flaming that person and thus potentially causing more useless threads.

Well, dont consider only him though. You have to see that because of this one thread we have had more and more threads created. Many spam threads have started because of it.
