Hey guys ,

I've got a Pentium 4 hyperthreading 3.0 Ghz, 1024 mb ram, a Geforce 6800 128mb and a Acer Flatscreen AL1714 (17 inch) monitor ....... I play at 1024x768 and my desktop is set at 1280x1024 .....I can't play everything at high ^^ .....what is the problem here hehe

How much RAM do you have? I'm guessing 512Mb. Need upwards of 1Gb.

The 6800 isn't exactly the best in the business either. Ought to be looking at a 6800GT for all high settings.

The problem is you have a mediocre computer, so you get to play on mediocre settings. This game is a resource hog, so if you want to play on high settings, grab $2000 and start upgrading. There's probably no easy fix for your comp either as I'm guessing the MOBO isn't 64-bit version and doesn't have PCI-Express slots for a better graphics card.

You still have a better computer than me however, except maybe the video card. I have no complaints about medium settings though.

And monitor doesn't affect performance, there's no need to list that in your specs.

Yea I just spent a grand in upgrades and now i play at all high settings at 1152x864 .

I don't even want play with medium or high settings... I have everything low/off except my geometry and texture filtering is high and distance is 100 and resolution 1280x1024. Now I can see farer that with all settings med/high/on and this looks good enough for mee now too.

Antiviruses can eat up your bandwidth, especially if they're on an auto-update, but they won't make a huge difference in your graphics capabilities. As I said before, you should be happy with medium settings out of your machine. That's not exactly top-end according to the specs you've listed. If you want to play on high, buy some more hardware.

I have a AMDDuron(tm) processor, which means it is probably below one ghz, 128 MB of Ram, no graphics card to speak of, a dinosaur of a monitor which can kill large animals. Better yet, the computer has become so buggy and fucking twisted that "Solitair" has become a mission for it to play. Sometimes typing lags on Microsoft word.

and I run all settings on high except one.. Texture filtering or something,
and at 1152 * 864 resolution, with viewdistance at 100%
40 FPS and up on average

Am I just really lucky? Friends of mine have comps half again as good and running on only medium settings..

yea I dont get it, many ppl say "to have fun" , "great gaming experience" you need about 50+ fps,

Shit I run the game everything low, and get about 24fps avg. and it is still freaking fun to play.

which brings me too: what are the two types of gamers called? like the ones who play for fun, and the other ones who play for stats? because them assholes that teamkill me all the time just to get a helo or jet, really get to me.
