What bugs me is that the evacuees had the nerve to complain about the ships. It was FREE. What more could you want.

I don't think anyone should have to pay. We're talking 17k for a boat ride home. You can plan multiple vacations on 17k. Not to mention these people already would have chartered plane tickets for hundreds of dollars, tickets that will now be useless, or would cost hundreds in fees to recharter.

Regardless I agree with you on the Hurricane thing. Florida got hit with 3 hurricanes last year and the government didn't do much. This might be because the people that got hit had a little personal responsibility. Seems that in New Orleans they expect there welfare check, 1000 bucks when shit hits the fan and the right to bitch about it.
Most of the people who were affected by the hurricane don't pay taxes anyway. Basically it is free to them.
