error message when i try and load the game

i just bought battlefield 2 sf and installed it, but when i try and load the game i keep getting this error message

mods/bf2/shaders.lighting.fx not found!!!_Do_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP.(really!)

i tried to reinstall both bf2 and bf2sf
anyone know whats wrong?

I heard this before...since the new patch there has been a problem with shaders...sry but i dont really know more than you....Ill take a look around and post back If i get some info k?

I got the exact same message when I tried out SF today. what I did was uninstall and reinstall both games, then installed these patches in this order

1)BF2/BF2 special forces 1.12
2)BF2/BF2 special forces 1.12 to 1.2
3)BF2 1.2 to 1.21
4)BF2 1.21 to 1.22
5)BF2 1.22 to 1.3

There's probably a quicker way to do it, but that's how I did it, and it works fine.

Hi there,..

Just want you guys to know that I've Had/Have the same problem
this is what i did: copy Lighting.fx and Rain.fx (those files seems to be missing) to
EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\shaders. now this fixes the problem I've had.
Now I have a new problem, When I Finished loading a SF Map. It says I should
bring my version back to it's original,and I'm back to the servers list.

Oops,.. just install the 1,3 patch again and it will be fine,
Because SF Add-on has a 1,10 patch in it so it reverses the hole thing i guess some how.

all you do is:

In here:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Shaders_client.zip

copy Lightning.fx and Rain.fx and copy them into here:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\shaders

and then it all works

hope I saved you a lot of time

you have to download the whole 1.3 patch the big 400is mb patch, i installed the game today and because SF shipped on a different version, the game installs the version it shipped with, so it reverts to a different patch, so redownload the big 1.3 patch, install it and you're good to go. i did that and no have no problems

Just to report, had both these issues and these fixes work, though I didn't bother re-downloading, I just repatched (full version) with what I had.

yup it saved me alot of time thnks alot man. but it took me a while to figure out because there was no shaders folder ot begin witht so i had to create a shaders folder and then move the files inot it but thanks for the help.

and another thing tupla_s the sigs are tight man keep doin what ur doin man

I had this error aswell then i used the full patch it fixed it but then i couldnt play a game because i kept getting kicked saying corrupted file memory

yeah none of the special forces servers run on 1.3 patch thats your problem i had to g back to original to play on special forces servers. i had the same problem with euroforce.
