ok the deal is, i found a guy that rents game servers and is in the middle of setting up his bf2 server boxes, they will be in syd and melb. so id say syd would be the place as to cover the whole east coast.
he said he is happy to sponsor us in return for homepage credentials like we got for the other servers.
now he has been told by ea that it takes 5 to 6 weeks to get ranked status.
i might email him this week just to see how its all going.
no other companies here were willing to do it. mainly i think because none of them normally rent to the general public.

Now that we have separate sub forums for the EU and US servers in BF2S.com - BF2S Servers. I ve sent a pm to chuy if he could maybe create an BF2S:AU sub forum as well. The Australian BF2S Ranked Server will be ready in about 5 weeks and i think we should try and get as much people excited about the idea of playing there to get a head start. I know how hard it is to get the game started on a new server.

I guess the heart attack will be head admin cause its his project.
I can tell you who the new server admins on it will be, it ll be a bunch of nice mature guys who play there a lot and guys who we think can handle that responcability.

We were talking about the new BF2S:AU forum, the server itself will be up in about 5 weeks if all goes to plan.

...because there was this attempt on iinet.net.au 's behalf to get ranked servers, and they were told by ea that they (ea) see no reason to expand the number of ranked serves in aus - so their application as an isp was denied.THA wrote:
