But, I think China has no dreams of expansionism aside from Hong Kong, which would upset the US, but not much we could do.
PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HONG KONG AND TAIWAN THE IGNORANT ASSHATS
JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO GOTO WAR WITH CHINA THAT BIG LAND MASS TO THE EAST OF RUSSIA - AND NOT GERMANY OR THE UK CAUSE YOU FLUNKED GEOGRAPHY
War isn't smart for both sides. There are too many risks involved that could topple either side.
As mentioned above, China and the US hold each others weights economically. We cut ties, our prices fly to the sky we bomb. They lose a main source of income and bomb.
China is too large. China has a massive population and accordingly need massive ammounts of supplies. There is too much needed to keep them running and there are no war created surpluses (in war, not after war). Until they shrink a bit, they can't do much and shrinking is not instantaneous (unless we're talking about genocide).
All the military matters mentioned, hurrah.
The cost of war would cripple the US as well. Look at how much the Iraqi war costs us. The ammount of fighting they do out there isn't nearly as much as it would be if the US engaged with China. Their military has over 2 million active. How many people are fought in Iraq? Not even close to a million.
And regarding someone's mention of China becoming power hungry, they need too much to be effecient. They will ravage and take as much as they can, but they still need to consume. A lot.
I don't believe there will be a war anytime soon.
(Edit: Ignore my grammar, I don't sleep much)

The only thing that a state may have to prevent US agression are nukes . China have them . So US would never attack China .
Check out Ugoslavia , Iraq - they didn't had nukes and what happened ? One was totally broked into parts - while before US agression it was one big country , now - a couple of small . Another - captured , US gas companyes got loads of contracts after it , while before that Iraq had contracts with Russia .

err the US is creating lasers that will shoot down the nukes in the pacific... or space if they can get the UN to agree...Longbow wrote:

china wont retake korea... they speak a fucking different langauge... but china might make a threat to take taiwan
Taiwan is an ancient China territory , why shouldn't China retake it back ? It was kind of separatism , when Chan Kaishi ( not sure about right spelling in Eng. ) escape to Taiwan and proclamated it sovereighn state .

one major point, the US doesn't want china, we could easily cripple them militarily, that's the beauty of surgical warfare, superior numbers don't matter if you can't build anything, but afterwards, the restructuring, would not be fun
HAH We'd be fucked. I've heard speculation that china could disable every american survellience satellite in days. Haven't you heard about land wars in asia? You always lose. China would outnumber, outgun, and crush us instantly. Surgical warfare doesn't do jack if you if half the country is farmland and the opposing airforce outguns you.kr@cker wrote:

Sorry I made one little mistake because I wasn't too concerned. Obviously I flunked geography because I'm American. Everyone knows all Americans are stupid fat white slobs. Just like all germans are nazis and all muslims are terrorists. Widely known facts.YunDog wrote:

apparently the Chinese have been waiting to invade Taiwan for years though they have kinda stepped things down a notch since they stopped claiming to be the rightful rulers of chinaLongbow wrote:

still i think the only threat from china now would be a Chinese backed invasion of SK by NK, but even that is fairly far fetched since china were the first ones to try and talk krazy Kim down from making ICBMS
and besides the only war the US could have with china would be by invading them, china hardly have the means in invade US soil since the US navy would basically wipe the Chinese navy off the face of the earth
Dont Worry If Us Does Go To War With China Us Canadians Got There Back. We Will Send Are In Tire Army Of 53 To Aid In The War (warning Canadian Solderers May Not Come With Guns Some Assembly Required)
Are China's people happy? If they are, their soldiers might have morale behind them. : \

Simple answer, the war wont be won on the ground, rather from the sky...a country that pushes 60 billion a year for defense, cant hold a candle to a country that puts up to 250 billion a year for new shiny toys, more troops, etc. And I cant believe half you dumbasses believe that loose change bullshit still, it was nothing but propoganda to make America look bad, almost all the vid was edited anyway. and of course obesity isnt a problem in china, because we have OREOS!!!! We had an asian kid in my high shool, and when i checked, he was good at math, I knew better than to pick on math nerds, guess what? I plan to go work FOR the guy when i get out of the military, because I didnt pick on him, and he remembers me. He rakes about 6 figures a year now. CHINA's TECH IS "TEH SUXXORZ". Look, I am not underestimating their people, but I am saying we cant win toe to toe, its going to be a war of tactics, IF, YES IF, they even bother attacking. But to answer your first question, yes, if the east is in dire need, we will step up to take care of business, nuff said.Aust1mh wrote:
I've seen a bit of American pride lately, nothin' wrong with that... but when i saw "You'll bitches to America" on another thread i started to think about that.
With 2 hundred thousand troops over seas, the U.S government was talking about making service to the military a requirement due to shortages. feels like the U.S has lost their power if they need to start forcing their own people to war.
China has millions of troops, they have nukes and hi tech jets as well (so hi tech we don't know about them)... when (Not If) China starts using their power to "reclaim" lost territory, will the U.S be willing or able to stop them? This kinda has meaning for me as I'm an Australian living so close to China.
F-22 info all over the net, little to nothing about all of China's tech.
Remember that 1 Asian kid in high school that made us all look like tards, try fighting millions of them.
Obesity is a big problem thats only getting bigger in the U.S, not a problem at all in China.
not ever terrorist have the stones to attack China, American "HomeGrown Terrorist" plan to attack their own country.
in the next big war.... who will win??
We would again.Aust1mh wrote:

1 everything everyone does in china is" Forced " not just military service. They are virtually slaves.
2 the F22 stuff on the net is stuff they don't care if anyone knows about.
( hint in 1973 we could read your license plates from a satellite and you knew it, imagine what you didn't know about us ) The F117 was in service for years before anyone knew it existed. Find another topic. this one is well lost.
3 terrorist attack the people of countries so those people will want to change their countries policies,
Chinese people cant vote and China's rulers could Care less about its people. they killed more Chinese in the cultural revolution than Hitler and Stalin combined.
4 smart kids? take a break, what has china given the world in the last 300 years, noodles?
5 fat kids not a problem?, no shit, they can barely feed themselves. see any fat marines on the news ?
PS next time you meet a Real Home grown Chinaman, not one who grew up in the USA look at his teeth, You can smell their teeth. I had the PRC Embassy as a client in Manhattan. Most chinese have never seen a dentist ever.
Chinese pilots have bolted with their MIGs and defected in almost every conflict given the opportunity, If their fighter pilots are "their Best" what does that tell you?
Any Americans ever had out to the USSR except Lee Harvey Oswald and The young bill clinton?

do you really think we can't disable their's in turn? Who cares about a land war, the navy and airforce could handle it, and their airforce is shite, their main arsenal is based on tech that came about in the cold war era, we are decomissioning vehicles that were designed after that, hell, our shit's so good we still use U-2's......U-mother-fucking-2's!!! You have any idea how old they are? The goal would not be to take over china, just render it impotent, land war is not necessary, excepting a few strategic strike units. Same thing devil's saying, and Horsey makes some good points concerning aircraft alone, china is still struggling to come up with a sub that's on par with those we made in the Reagan era.jonsimon wrote:

We could only win a war with china if it were them who were invading us. If we start the conflict with china, it will be won on the ground, and thats a battle we will lose. Land cannot be occupied or defended without infantry and armor, I.E. a battle in korea would be bloody and likely a US defeat. However, a defensive against a Chinese invasion of the states would be a surefire victory for the US, which is why it will never happen.kr@cker wrote:

As for my view - I think it won't happen. China relies on exporting to the US, and the US relies on Chinese imports. Ending this relationship would send both economies into a disastorous tailspin.
